Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Zen 2006, I drive it regularly to my office bsk 3rd stage to electronic city during non peak hours 12 PM and 10 PM and i am consistently getting 15kmpl without ac on i know this can get better if i dont rev on my initial gear but at time i do rev high on the initial gears(not above 3k to 3.5k rmp) which is getting me this FE but i can live with it. And its covered 34k kms already.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have been driving my Alto K10 since August. All city drive with AC on till last tank full.
1st Tank (31.87L) - 12.11
2nd Tank (31.41) - 11.68
3rd Tank (30.94) - 13.57
Now on 4th Tank ~ 15.

All in journeys less than 2km at a time.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Since Christmas I have been using my brothers Zen Diesel. Since he is out of station. The fuel efficiency is just staggering. Checked tank full to tank full several times
Worst: 100% City with A/C on 80%- 16kmpl
Best: High Way run, early Morning without a/c: 210 kms in 7.7 Litres- 27.27kmpl
Overall over 1700kms covered in 84 Litres. 20.25 Kmpl. 70% Highways.40% with A/c.

Entire drive with just one passenger along. I issualy drive with a feather light foot.

About the car: 2001 Zen Di. Odo reads 104000kms.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Linea MJD gives 16 - 18 in City and Above 20 always on Highway.

1. Best FE Figure (Long highway run)
During new year while returning back from Jalna to Thane I got 24.4Kmpl.
Total Distance: 454 Kms
AC: 90% usage
Speed: 60-80

2. Best FE Figure (Shorter highway run)
The overall best given by Linea (on a shorter Highway run) has been 25.7 Kmpl between Pune-Mumbai over a 120Km run with 100% AC usage.

I believe there is further scope for improvement (for me the driver) in both City and Highway FE. Overall quite satisfied with my Linea.

Did a tankful last Friday. My daily driving is about 50Kms in city. Will update on the latest City FE figures in days to come.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

These are fantastic figures, with fuel prices increasing almost every other week, FE as huge as urs really makes me think of buying the linea mjd. The main reason i havnt gone for it is due to the rubbery gearshift it offers. I am waiting for new fiesta sedan but if takes too long to come to market i may go for linea.
How is your experience with linea and how many kms have u driven till date.

thnx

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Cookie just completed 2500 km and I want to know if mileage is alright or I need any tuning.

Aveo 1.4 L (2010 model) stroked a 12.4 kmpl (75% AC)

520 km with 42 litre consumption i.e 12.38 kmpl.
Measured on one full tank
100 km in BLR city
280 km on nice clean highway (BLR -MYSORE)
40 km on bad road (40 kmph speed)

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

With recent increases in Petrol prices the decision to go for Diesel makes more sense if usage is regularly above 1000Km/Mo. The FE extracted from a car largly depends on the external factors (Driver, Road Condition and Traffic). You can't change the latter two but former is something that is within your control. I think all modern Diesels < 1500 cc should be able to give such FE figures. Linea is certainly in the same league. I don't think Fiesta would be far behind in that aspect. But there are other things apart from FE for which you should definately consider Linea. Have sent you a detailed feedback thru PM. Have driven 18,000 Kms so far. It's been a year. The experience of owning Linea has been delightful.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have a 2008 Optra Magnum Diesel. It initially used to give me a FE of 15 which had come down to about 14.5. However after the latest service which also included de-carbonisation the FE has jumped to 16.2. I am certainly not complaining.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Swift DDiS gives me between 16.5 & 16.9 using the full-tank method only. This is a total city-cycle, and with fatter rubber (195) and bigger rims (15").

Considering current fuel costs (42/ltr for diesel and 63/ltr for petrol), if we take an average of abt 12kpl for the Petrol Swift, the per-km running costs work out as follows:

SWIFT 1.3 Diesel: Rs. 2.5 (approx)
SWIFT 1.3 Petrol: Rs. 5 (approx).

Given the fact that Ive done 35k kms in 2 yrs, I've more than recovered my money.

More importantly, though... I've loved every minute of driving the MJD. The Petrol has always seemed anemic in comparison.
