Yes, perfectly normal. My IKON's worst FE till now is ~10 and best is ~19. Almost 100% increase.

The NHC iDSi models are far more fuel efficient than the ANHC in the city cycle ( expect a difference of at least 2 kpl for the same comute)

So when comparing FE,

NHC > ANHC > Linea

In the real-world , there would be about 1 kpl difference between ANHC and Linea, not a deal breaker.

But ask yourself - why pay for more fuel and get much less power ?

I have booked the Linea T-Jet+ last Saturday, .

But, this was more to trigger a debate with actual owners since this thread deals with an oft-repeated advantage of [O,N,AN]HC over other cars from this segment.
Since owners would generally read/post here, it provides a better perspective.

And, it is certainly not a deal-breaker in fact, so the argument does not have as much merit as made out to be in real world (and I have heard this many times over the past 8 months).

As you say, if you want mileage, go diesel.

I will be posting my figures too...

In ANHC, one can use paddle shifters, two small levers makred + & - behind the steering wheel, to shift up/down through the gears.

So, say you are traveling at 50 kmph in 4th/fifth gear and you spot a speed breaker or a signal ahead. All you need to do is pull the '-' marked lever (on the right side) to come to 3rd and then to 2nd to effect engine braking. I use this regularly. Owner's manual also states the same thing: paddle shifters can be used to go to a lower gear to effect engine braking. This is regardless the two driving modes: S or D that are present in ANHC.

Sorry for an OT response

Cheers
