Car: Mitsubishi Cedia

Current ODO: 48657
City FE: ~8 (90% AC, 4-5km daily runs, Blr bumper-bumper traffic)

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car - Hyundai Santro - April 2007
52000 Kms., Michelin Energy XM+,
Usually get 18-19 KMPL on Highway - 60-70% AC, City - 13-14 KMPL
I don't cross 100 KMs even on Highways.

I have observed many a times that HP Power helps achieve a better mileage and smoother ride while IOC Premium gives 1-1.5 KMPL less than HP Power.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Hyundai Accent 1.6
Mileage : 11.5 (75% City, 25% Highway) with 50% time A/C on.
I live in the outskirts of Chennai, so "city" driving doesn't mean crawling in 1st or 2nd gear always

City - Exactly the same FE-8-9 range, with same driving routines as you.
Highway: FE looks a bit low. I do exactly all that maniac stuff (Especially the one after Toll booth - leaving others behind is sheer fun), still managed to get close to 13-14 on a run of about 350 kms! I have done Chennai-Bangalore few times, and always she didn't fail to give more than 14.

I am sure on GQ roads, i would get 12.5-13.5 as you can cruise at 130-140 without lots of braking and acceleration. Most of my highway runs are on 2 laned NH's combined with Ghat sections where you have trucks/tractors and all sorts of slow moving traffic criss crossing leading to braking and manic acceleration. I have a Blr-Chennai trip coming up in a month's time and will check FE then.

BTW i noticed that i get ~1kmpl more for HP Power / BP Speed compared to normal fuel. Have you noticed this as well ? Problem though is, with petrol prices, most bunks near my house here in Blr dont stock premium fuel.
