Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My bike GT650R -
City or highway - it returns around 19-21 km/L and i have no qualms about it.

Fiat Linea 1.4 :
City FE - 14-15 km/L , light foot and 100% city without AC.
Highway : 16-17 km/L and with AC it gives 14-16 depending on how spirited you go. I mostly stay around 100-120 mark here.

Mahindra Scorpio :
City - With AC it gives 11-12 and these days its returning a stunning 14-15 km/L.
Highway - Not much change, with ac is 13 and without AC it returns a good 15-16 km/L.
This car is driven by my father and he is a very very sedate driver, hardly uses the turbo and so is the FE of 15 , i try so hard but never ever do i get such amazing figures.

Everything measured on tankful basis.

As I said, I wasn't light footed. Driven only in 3 digit speeds (100~150 kmph) with 100% AC.
Route: Chennai - Vilupuram - Perambalur - Trichy - Karur - Coimbatore - Metupalayam - Pollachi - Tirupur - Salem - Krishnagiri - Vellore - Kanchipuram - Chengalpattu.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My latest drive from Kottayam in Kerala to Bangalore gave me 10.8 kmpl under pretty aggressive driving conditions. Car is Civic V AT. Distance covered was 620 kms. I get about 13 kmpl under normal conditions on the same trip.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

For Figo Titanium

In City - 15~16 Kmpl
Long Drive - 24 kmpl (with 90% AC On)

Long drives turns out more cheaper than public transport when 4 people are travelling

makes sense

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I did a full tank (stop at auto cut off) in my Palio Stile SDX on 23rd December night, and checked the pressure in my stock size tyres to 30 PSI (close to what is recommended in the user manual).
Next morning at 5 AM, 3 of us left for Mangalore, and I drove all the way. Road was good, traffic was hardly any, and I kept between 80 and 90 kmph, occasionally drifting close to 100 kmph but never going above it.

The Western Ghats were bad, and had to keep the AC on from there till Mangalore.

Out of curiosity, did a full tank as soon as I reached, and it filled 17.2 litres. That's a whopping 22.59 kmpl!

So it would have easily been 24 kmpl from Bangalore to Hassan.

EDIT: completed 64000 km on the way back, but have not calculated the fuel efficiency yet, but I don't think it is good, as there was unruly traffic all the way.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Navi Mumbai to Mahabaleshwar & back via Pune Expressway.
Wagon-R Petrol (non K series).
Driving condition: 80-90 kmph on the highway + lots of traffic jams on the highway while returning + driving in the hills (mostly in 2nd & 3rd gear) with 5 people.
Tank full method FE: 18.2kmpl

Otherwise, city FE is usually 16.5-17 kmpl.

True, I take utmost care of my car. Just yesterday while wifey was boarding in the car & I was wiping the windshield, she commented (with a tinge of jealousy of course), "You take more care of your car than your very own wife". My reply "Wifey can take care of herself, but not this poor car". No prize for guessing what happened next

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Drove 540 kms in the city and consumed 33 liters . i.e 16.4 kpl.Thiis wasnt in some overpriced diesel engined car ,but in my 11 year old, close to 2L kms old MUL mpfi Zen !

Should I say "thanks Surakshaa "or should I say "thanks MUL" I am not sure ,but I know that as long as there are MASS like Surakshaa ,people like me will continue to buy cheapo products like MULs instead of more superior cars like FIATs ...what an irony.Fiat engines in Fiat cars dont sell ,but the same engines sell like hot cakes in MUL cars !
