Totally agree with you Plus one tends to get frustrated at small delays like at toll booths.

Arun, I TRY to keep between 80 to 100 depending on traffic. I find 80 is sweet as I am at peak torque and a tap on the pedal diminishes irritants to a reflection in RVMs. on open road I take her to 100 but at times get when I see the speedo reading 120.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Polo Diesel so far has ran 4921 Kms on 293.80 Ltrs Of fuel. That means 16.75 KMPL-long term average, includes running in, City driving-incl. traffic Jams, Highway drives @150+ KPH, Few hundred KMs of Hilly terrain etc. Quite satisfactory I'd say.

Drove another tankful with AC being used rarely. The tank gave me 444.5KMs. Almost 13kmpl.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Had been to a rather long trip on my new honda city. The total distance travelled was 2700 km mostly in highways, 100 % AC and fully loaded with four passengers and luggage. Drove mostly at 80-100 km. It gave an overall mileage of 16 kmpl. Quite nice i should say. My older I10 1.2 Magna used to give a decent FE of 17 kmpl on highways.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Figo-2011 has done 4500 km and in a recent Bglr-Chennai-Bglr run I go an average FE of 21.5 kmpl. First time I saw the DTE (Distance to empty) figure crossing 800 km, 832 km to be precise.

Speed ranged between 80-100 kmpl -100% AC.

The car was awesome to drive , well planted at high speed. I feel the FE can further improve once the car is fully run-in.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Maruti Swift VXI, 2007. Done 73,000 Kms.

13.96 in Pune, with Hinjewadi traffic thrown into the mix every working day. AC used 50% of the time.

The fuel efficiency is consistently in 14-15 range, barring major service periods when it goes down to 12. I follow full tank auto-cut off and no top up at the fuel station...

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2011 VW VENTO 1.6 A/T:-
with 11K kms
Mumbai-Gujarat-Mumbai, same day return
A trip of 360 kms return with speeds between 80-120 kmph
AC used only for about 60 kms
FE: 16.4 kmpl, tank full to tank full
Am very satisfied!

In the city I get approx 10 kmpl. various traffic conditions, AC 50-50.

Will come up soon with latest FE in city after a week now.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car : Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi
Distance : 76km ( Suburban Mumbai to South Mumbai & back)
FE : 15.1 kmpl
Total time spent travelling in car : 3hrs 10mins
Average Speed : 23 km/hr

Note: Figures as shown on the MID.

The FE is not that bad considering the fact that my Swift diesel gives about 16.xx kmpl on that same stretch of road everyday! Only issue with the Octavia is the long clutch travel & parking in the city. The best bit about the Octavia is the ride quality, something which i miss in my Swift.

Hope God blesses me with a DSG in the coming years.
