Mod Note : As per the recent mass PM, please do NOT use acronyms when referring to cars. You are ONLY permitted to use the full Make & Model name. Any further usage of acronyms will invite severe Moderator action on your account. Thanks

Honda City, bought in Dec 2008 and put about 49,000 kms. I get 14.5/ltr in city and 19km on highways when i drive myself and with constant AC on 1 or 2. One thing i constantly do is to go on higher gear as quickly as possible, anticipate obstacles and put into neutral (as i get closure to speed bumps) and moderate acceleration.

I am extremely pleased with the performance and btw I use synthetic engine oil.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

A query for Swift petrol (1.2 K series engine) users : What is the normal FE that you get in city and highways ? Do mention details of traffic conditions and a/c usage.
My sister is looking at buying a Swift, but confused about whether to go for petrol or diesel and FE details of petrol version could provide clarity to their decision.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

18 kmpl is the FE figure I am getting very often with my New Fabia 1.2 TDI, with the AC on 100%. And the best ever I got, was about 24 kmpl for a stretch of about 125 kms on NH4.

I have a Santro Xing '03 make & regularly manage 14+ with 50% AC in Delhi Traffic on Petrol... now have switched to CNG, so not measuring City Petrol Mileage as such. But, easily manage ~ 19 kmpl on highway on petrol mode with liberal use of AC.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Petrol Skoda Laura
Time: Dawn
Route: Airport Run, Bangalore
Distance: 50+ km
AC: On (As always)
Mileage: 20.5 kmpl !!!

This is not instantaneous mileage, but trip mileage, and is the best I have got in this over a year of ownership. Sweet.

[Apologies for the blurred image shot while driving, and using the phone. The 4.9 is liters per 100 km - The german way of showing mileage ]

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My T-Jet+ returned the FE of around 12.5 KMPL from last tankfull.

Calculation method is via trip meter which was set to zero at the petrol pump.
Yesterday while refilling I again reset the trip meter to zero and today after around 40-45 kms when I checked the reading, it again showed 12.3 KMPL.
So all in all the FE has improved from 10 KMPL (ODO reading 100 while delivery) to 12.5 KMPL (ODO reading 2400-2500 present).
I am sure it will go further up after 5000 Kms.
Cheers
