What is your driving style motorhead1981?
Your FE looks pretty low to me.

I have a 85 PS Duster and I get consistently 17kmpl in city post 1000kms and 23+kmpl on highways. All this with AC on about 60% of time, and not stopping engine at red lights ever.

I was expecting 110 to give you atleast 16+ in city and 21+ in highways.

Do you drive aggressively? Speeds at which you drive, please?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Ever since I switched over to the tank-full to tank-full (auto cut-off) method from my earlier visual tank-full method, my city mileage has gone up to 16 - 17 KMPL, from the previous 14 - 16 KMPL.

I was very sedate in the first 1500 Kms or so never going beyond 2500 rpm. The last 900 kms have been in western ghats with more than 60 % in second and third gear with five people & luggage on board. All the FE has been calculated with an iPhone app using full tank to full tank method. I have never gone beyond 110 Km/hr and I tend to upshift around 2500 rpm max. If am not mistaken most 110 PS guys have been reporting similar FE.

Thanks for replying.
I upshift between 1900-2000 rpm. Also 85ps has short gear ratios for first 3 gears with a decently tall 4th gear. I'm not aware about how are gear ratios in 110 ps. But does your engine feel lugging the car if you upshift at 1900-2000rpm mark?

You can try that and see what efficiency you get.

Apologies for unwanted advise.

rki2007 - I believe this is low for a Manza and most other cars with 1.3L MJD engine on a highway. I do not know about the state of highways down south but would ask what's the average speed per hour after say a 300km run?

Average mileage in my 77k km's old manza for the last 4,047 km's is 20.27 kmpl. This is 65% highway and rest city. Zero AC due to winters and 2-3 occupants mostly. Pure highway drives I get about 22 w/o AC.

My highway drives are all on NH1 which has nice 3 lanes each side and I don't drive above 100 kmph. Average speed comes to about 70kmph after say a 4 hour drive.

with what Amit has said above. Unless you are ripping your Manza, you should easily be able to get in the range of 20kmpl for highway drives, 17.5kmpl is on the lower side (if not very low). You should do the gear changes in the 2000-2500 rpm band range, when the turbo spools in. I am assuming you have done the service at regular intervals as per the car manual & the fuel & air filters were replaced/cleaned at each service. Please confirm.
