Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 18 days old Rapid TDi gave me 9.5kmpl for its first tankful. Though its very low for a diesel, the car was used in very high traffic with lots of waiting and very short distances. I will wait till the running-in period is over before actually making a judgement since its elder VAG sibling (jetta) gives me about 14.5 kmpl in mixed traffic conditions.

Dads Toyota Rav4 2.0 '05 model.
Odo- 170k kms!
Last time I was in Bahrain I calculated the FE with the help of tankful to tankful
Method and it gave us about ~9km/l
The car is rarely driven in start stop traffic.
Mostly on the highway in 3 digit speeds.

My 2012 yamaha Fazer
Odo-16k kms
City- 40km/l
Highway- 43km/l
Redlining- 35km/l

Moms 2002 Honda activa
Odo-24k kms ( between '06 dec to '11 July it was unused)
City- 24~28km/l
I haven't taken it on the highway since I got my bike so really don't know about those figures!

I got full tank at Godrej BP pump at Vikhroli, then drove home in peak traffic (travel between 5:30 and 6:10). AC was off and full tank weight of about 42 kg. Watch the mileage.
What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?-image3886043000.jpg

Honda City, 2010.

MID is about 20% on the higher side. The mileage is excellent even after discounting 20%. How I wish for this kind of mileage at all times :-)

Strange! I had both these cars (though mine was a petrol Beat) in my garage and pathetic FE was one among the reasons for ditching them both. I never got above 16/17 in any way on the Matiz. And 25.xx is indeed a tall claim for any petrol.

Is the Beat diesel's figures checked by the full tank method?

Sir, with due respect, most of the figures are by tank full method. Me and my dad are actually very sedate drivers. And our commutes are also mostly through open roads and are traffic-jam free, so we get these kinds of figures. And yes, Beat's figures are also by tank full method. Erstwhile, in heavy stop-go traffic conditions, the Beat gives us 16-17 kmpl.
On highway, my ex-Maruti 800 5-speed once gave me 28 kmpl, for a sedate 70-80 kmph drive, for a stretch of 200 km trip. So, 25kmpl in Matiz is very gettable indeed.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Well my figures are as follows

Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI (sold)
City 11 - 12kmpl & highway 20 - 22kmpl

Santro Xing 1.1
City 9 - 10kmpl & highway 11 - 13kmpl

Maruti Gypsy 1.0
City 6 - 7 kmpl & highway 9 - 10kmpl

but still I love to drive my MG410W even with the low FE, there is nothing to match it when gone off the road.
