Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My CRUZE AT gave me mileage of 9 in city and 11 on highways with 100% AC On. I changed the car to Ertiga in September and my mileage in city with AC 100% is currently 15.63 (with just 595 kms on the ODO and full tank method) and hoping to improve it further.

My current MID is showing me 16.5kms with city driving, hope to atleast maintain that.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Another update. Mileage has stabilised at around 14KMPL average in city with 50% AC usage with 40% bumper to bumper traffic. And in highway has also stabilised at around 18KMPL average with average speeds of around 80KMPH with 90% AC. The car in question is a non euro Maruti 800DX 1999 model year run 67400KMS in 14years.

And I am guessing you drive it with a heavy foot almost all the time or atleast when the roads permit. There isnt much to loose anyway

P.S. Read through your 3 series thread. The car love shows through man

Stats for my Chevy Beat LT Diesel about 1.5 year old and 24,000 KMs under its tyres...

I am using fuellog an Android app for last 8000 KMs and here are the stats (90+% AC) -

My observations -
Driving at 2000 RPM or nearabout consistently increases mileage by 1.5-2 KMPL.

Drove with just 2 persons(including me) + ~10Kg luggage. Route: Sithalapakkam - Kelambakkam Road - Vandalur - Ulundurpet - Salem - Perundurai Drove with a steady rpm at 1.5K, speedo hovering around 65, without A/C & windows rolled down a few inches, for the entire trip. Refilled in a Perundurai BP pump (Slow filling - Auto cutoff) early morning. Total distance covered between the 2 fills - 429Kms - for just 13.8 litres. Could not believe my eyes - that's an amazing 31.08 Km/L :-) Okay, What did I loose? 1. Took nearly an hour extra (8.5 hrs) than the usual time that is taken (7.5 hrs) to cover the entire distance. 2. My right leg started paining in the middle of the trip, as I usually press the accelerator a little more, to maintain a 2K rpm at around 85Km/hr. However, I was planning to do this kind of a mileage marathon for the past few months, hence tolerated the ache :-) for the rest of the journey.
Amazing. My vista Safire typically gives me 13.5 - 14 in city and 16 on highways. I use the a/c almost 100%

Honda Amaze S mt diesel.
First top up 26.4 highway drive light foot because its a new car.
Second: 24.2
Third : 21.4
Fourth : 20.1
With 100% A/c on.

The reason behind the drop in mileage is due to me getting used to the car's capabilities. And also because of my friends and family members who test drove the car.

For better mileage, the rpm should not exceed 2000.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Swift VDi
70% highway + 30% City
90% AC full blast
Shifting done 90% of time above 3k rpm, red light sprints, hard braking from high speeds, literally trying to test that DDIS heart :-)
Tankful method indicating 17.4 Kmpl.

Now, who does not want a swift.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Hyundai Verna Petrol 1.6 gives around 14kmpl mileage in light city traffic, drops to 12kmpl in heavier traffic in Bangalore. It's yet to breach the 500km mark and I hope it improves after the first service..
