Last week i replaced Stock air filter with OEM stock air filter.
Cost of replacement: Rs 195 (MGA)
When i removed my old Air-filter, i was shocked to see it had become grey-black in colour. When the filter element is supposed to pure white.
Outgoes my old filter and in comes new Airfilter.
Oh boy, it looks my mileage issue looks solved, but is defintely giving more kmpl (needle movement with more kms run). I will confirm actual kmpl with new filter , later once my Tank is empty (reserve only reading).
Guys, i suggest cheapest and easiest replacement to try to look into low mileage figures is Air-filter replacement with new ones.
Note: Mine ODO is 21.5K run, with airfilter not even replaced once.
Kiddo: Rs 195 saves me petrol ..(hopefully)

Well I have figures with Replaced Air-filter.
Did Run (90% - 455 kms Highway and 10% city - 32kms)
I Filled for Rs 2000 (Rs 78.87/L in BLR) = 25.4 Litres.
for Complete 487 kms, I got Fuel efficiency of 19.17 KMPL

My views: Amazing!. Highway Run = ~80 to 95 KMPH with AC and Loaded.
City Run = Bangalore Traffic with AC.
I never knew, small component change like Air-filter replacement will boost my efficiency by 15 to 20%. Amazing and i love it and now i do not need LPG Kit to beat my fuel bills.

Sorry mate, I forgot to mention that it's petrol. Previous to last tankful returned 17.7 kmpl, 100% highway with AC on all the time, 4 adults on-board, speeds between 90 to 100 kmph.

Last one returned 13.5 kmpl with 50% highway (speeds between 120 to 140 kmph) and 50% city, AC on all the time.

Regards.:thumbs up

Hello All,

I am getting a constant mileage between 12 - 13 kmpl from my 2010 Wagon K10 in MMumbai city driving conditions with AC on 50% of time.

Can I post my bike's fuel efficiency figures here?

Well, since last one year I am getting mileage of approx 45 kmpl from my 2010 Bajaj Pulsar 180 in Mumbai city riding conditions.

Thanks,

Beat Diesel Economy update.
My father has been driving it like a real baby for the past few days. He says he keeps it under 1200 rpm at all times. It gave us 23.xx kmpl the last time, and this time, including a 90 km expressway drive (with 170+ km of city driving) the overall mileage for some 10 litres of diesel came out to be 26.8 kmpl, yes you heard it right.
This came as a surprise as earlier we used to get 19.5-20.5 kmpl in city with me driving sanely but still using some good revs and turbo.

Not good for the engine - actually you're lugging the engine. Ideal upshift should around 2K. It is not really recommended to drive the engine under 1500 except unavoidable circumstances.
Also, the tankful to tankful measurement for FE will give you the correct figure.

I am getting a mileage of ~ 25 kmpkg (CNG) on my Santro Xing. Winters definitely seem to have helped efficiency as AC is not used at all. This is for intercity drives in bad traffic &/ or 2nd-3rd gears for most of the distances.

When I drive to Ambala (~ 250 kms one side) this month end, I am sure the mileage will be 30 kmpkg.

I get 10.5kmpl on my 2010 i10 Asta(0) AT with the K-2 engine
10kmpl from my Polo 1.6P
9kmpl from my 2007 2.4 MT Accord
9kmpl from my Civic AT.

All these in city driving in Chandigarh/Gurgaon.

I'm jumping on the diesel bandwagon as soon as I get my hands on a Diesel AT hatch.

I think the engine lugging occurs under 800-900 rpm. At anywhere above 1000 rpm, with light foot the engine is just fine. More so due to the fact that engine idles at 700-750 rpm itself.
Next time will surely check with tankful method for absolute figures, we checked it with fuel warning light method, but this should not have more than 10% error I suppose.

I get 15 in the city and 22 on the highway runs. Fiat Punto 90HP.

It perhaps gives a better idea if you can name the city as well. Thanks.

I get 20 to 23.5 kmpl in my amaze vxmt diesel . Mixed highway and city with ac on 100% as per the mid and 12.5 kmpl in my swift dzire vdi diesel in only city driving with ac on 100% . Both cars are 1 to 3 months old . Dzire driven by driver and amaze by me .

Car : Hyundai Verna - 2007
City : 15.5 kmpl (not 100% AC)
Highway : 21 kmpl (100 % AC)

Best Figures - 23.4 kmpl on a Sedate Highway drive without AC

Cheers,
pdma

I have just achieved the best FE on my i10 (1.2 Kappa2, Magna), since I purchased the vehicle in December 2010.

Between 25/9/13 and 23/11/13, I covered 2534 kms and using the auto cut-off system, I filled in 117.36 litres. As a result, my i10 delivered a stupendous 21.59 KMPL (by i10 standards.) This reading is even better than the ARAI FE of the i10. clap:

The road conditions: All round conditions here in Goa, from great roads to heavy traffic.

Since I have purchased the car in December 2010, these are the following statistics:

* I have so far (as on 23/11/13) covered 46,254 kms.
* I have filled petrol 158 times.
* I have filled 2,664.76 litres of petrol.
* I have spent Rs 1,61,821.50 worth of petrol.
* The average cost of petrol is: Rs 60.72 per litre.
* The BEST FE so far is: 21.59 kmpl.
* The WORST FE so far is: 15.56 kmpl.
* The overall FE of my i10 is: 17.27 kmpl.

For a detailed FE log of my i10, check the following Excel file.

I10-LOG.xls

My 2012 Ford Figo tdci done 20k
City 13-14 kmpl with AC. (In moderate traffic conditions)
Highways 18-20 with AC.
