Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have done about 700km now and the recent figures:
Safari Dicor - 14.5km Highways (100 % AC and spirited driving)
And city - 9.5 km in Mad traffic conditions.

Ford IKon 1.3 - Mostly city driving - 14km with AC on. Rare highway drives - > = 19km (figures are calculated for this car)

Just to give a historical perspective:
Ambassador with Isuzu Diesel Engine - highway 17km and city 12 km
When the engine was fitted in the year 1995 - diesel was selling for Rs.8.60/- per liter. I could drive all over south India for very little expense for the fuel.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have Swift K-Series 2010 which has only done 6500 km. I got about 16 kmpl on highway (NH1) from Delhi to Karnal with 4 adults.

Local Gurgaon-Delhi I get about 10 kmpl with a decent drive in Gurgaon-South Delhi circuit.

I feel the FE is pretty low. Please share your Swift P FE figures.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have a 2006 Swift VXi , done 87750 kms. Almost driven 100% with air conditioning on, in city it delivers 10 kmpl.
Last highway + city run (50% each) gave around 13.5 kmpl, so I assume just the highway run should be around 14.5 kmpl.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Recent highway drive on my Linea MJD returned 22KMPL with sedate driving with full AC. No sudden braking or acceleration. City drives give me around 17 KMPL.

Hi @heysac

I believe you are unnecessarily concerned with low mileage. IMO your car has barely opened up, & the Gurgaon-South Delhi traffic is not good/ free flowing, & your distance is very short, so your mileage is acceptable. Your highway mileage is good & probably you can get 1-2 kmpl more if you are easy at the time of starting & picking up.

BTW is this your first car?

Thanks! Well before this I had M800 since the early 90s, then Accord in the US. My father bought a zen while I was away in 2005.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Ford Figo (T) Diesel

My FE has dipped to its lowest. Recent Numbers: 16 kmpl. All City driving. 50% AC On.

Something tells me I have been driving in bumper to bumper traffic for most of the time, and it seems to have taken a toll on the car.

What you're getting is same as mine, only difference is i don't use AC. Out of 24 km of my one way drive, 12 kms go mostly in 1st and 2nd gears.

The worst so far have been 14.75, highest being 17.54.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I went in my '03 Santro Xing to my native place on Saturday & was back home on Sunday night. This time I managed CNG fuel efficiency of 30+ kmpkg (333 kms on ~10.75 kg CNG).

There was no AC usage & I was speeding to 100 kmph, with almost pedal to metal type of roll-ons. Had I been more sedate (under 90 kmph & slower starts) I could have travelled father IMO. But, still I am happy with what I have managed.

PS: Also got my PUC certificate done in Saturday Morning in Delhi, & the proprietor of the PUC point was pleasantly surprised at the condition of my 10+ years old car. I am more happier for this.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

BMW 320d F30 Efficient Dynamics.

Gurgaon - Delhi - Amritsar via Chandigarh. Pleased to see 22.1 km per liter.

Looks like I will manage to get 1200 Km fuel range out of single fuel tank.

Peak hour, mixed driving. Ecopro mode. But I am happy with the frugality of this diesel motor. Impressive.
