Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Vehicle: Toyota Altis - Converted to CNG.(Sequential)
ODO: 91,000Kms : 20,000Kms driven on CNG.
Daily run: 60Km ; terrain is maximum highway and partial city.

Have been constantly giving me an average of 15-16.5/Kg of CNG.
Basic calculation is I fill in 8.5Kgs of CNG and the car runs for 140Kms easily.
Only at times when the CNG is mixed with some other Gas, my tank fills up to 10Kgs.

Once I ended up going to Pune, and the car was driven for 208Kms on 8.7Kgs of Gas(Tank was completely empty before filling the gas)

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 6 year OLD i10 is giving 15-16 kms consistently in Bangalore city. This involve morning drive to office which I start at 715 am in the morning, usually the traffic is moderate. While return need to pass silk board, ORR and the traffic will be heavy.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Measured FE on my 2004 TVS Victor recently (reserve to reserve) and I got a figure of 57kmpl. Is that something to be happy about or is it on the lower end?

In its hay days, my bike got me 80+kmpl (ofcourse no where close to as much traffic in that town).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car : i20 Crdi (new model)
City: 16-17 (95 % AC). Very consistent
Highway 17-19 (100 % AC) - I drive in Kerala where there are no "Highways" as such its only a series of towns
Highway : 21-22 (early mornings with liberal use of 6th Gear )

Method Used: reserve to reserve (light indication)

Just curious, how did you conclude that the engine needed to be rebuilt?

The engine has started consuming oil, it emits blue smoke & the pick-up as well as FE is also going down. If i take out the oil dipstick while the engine is running there's a lot of unburnt charge coming out & I guess that confirms it.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2012 ANHC V MT:

City traffic with AC: 13.5 kmpl
Suburbs with AC: 14.0 to 14.5 kmpl
Suburbs without AC: 15.5 to 16.5 kmpl
Highway with AC: 17.5 kmpl

The above mileage is with a light foot and sedate driving. If in the City or Suburbs, revving the engine for quick pick-up or accelerating a lot, reduces the mileage immediately by approximately 1 kmpl.

The car seemed to be giving a slightly higher mileage after the 4th servicing.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Mahindra XUV 5OO W8
ODO: ~ 9.5k Kms
Just finished a 1600 kms trip, mostly good highways, some 4 lanes too.

Fuel filled In Litres of Diesel: ~ 138
Average overall Mileage: 11

Not great given the drive was mostly on highways with minimal ripping :(

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car - Figo 1.4 TDCi (2013)
Mileage - 18-19 kmpl (70% city (medium to heavy traffic & 30% ORR) with 10% a/c.

On a recent highway trip to Nagpur (on the awesome NH44 till Adilabad & the horrifyingly pathetic 35km stretch on the NH7 in Maharashtra) got an FE of 19.5kmpl. Average speed was 100-110kmph. A/C usage was minimum, up to 10% only.

Used the tankful method & the driving style is sedate in city.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Vehicle: Chevrolet Beat Petrol - 2011 March.
Current ODO Reading: 21,000kms
City: Bangalore
Type of Commute: Peak Hour Bumper to Bumper Traffic, with short bursts on flyovers.
Fuel Type: Shell Unleaded Normal (Approx. Rs.78/l)

Cabin Usage Type: 90% Non-AC ; 10% AC with intermittent blower usage.

Non-AC - Actual Fuel Efficiency: 14kmpl
With AC - Actual Fuel Efficiency: 12kmpl

EDIT: Ohh, forgot to add the Average Speed. The speed ranges between 20kmph to 80kmph. So the average is ummm, somewhere around 50kmph, which is actually NOT, in Bangalore.
