I am extremely sorry. I don't know why I did not get a notification for you quoting my post. Anyway others have rightly answered your query, it's fuel log.

Sorry once again for the late revert.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Best and worst log of my Safari and Brio (Sally).
Safari is touching ~28k kms and Brio is about 6k kms now.
All 100% AC, Brio is mostly city and Safari is mostly highways.
This log is for a period of ~1 year since I started using
the phone application.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Well, I am not using the car for more than a year now.
But until then the FE was 12-14 with highway FE touching 16+ for Fiat Palio Stile.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Swift Dzire automatic mileage figures using the top-up method.
  • Filled fuel from the same dispenser (Shell, Hinjewadi Pune).
  • On stock tyres.
  • Completely driven in city and not taken on the highway for even a kilometer. My daily running is around 30 kms mostly to office and back, of which 6 kms every day is bumper-to-bumper peak hour traffic near my office at Hinjewadi software tech park in Pune.

I haven’t taken a mileage reading for ages. So here goes:

Kilometres driven = 475.5
Fuel filled in litres = 36

Mileage = 475.5/36=13.20

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My brother got his 1st low fuel indication on his i20 bought on 23rd Feb 2014 after travelling 432 kms. We had filled in petrol worth Rs.2500, i.e. ~33.5 liters on the same day & his car is barely 450 kms old.

His average of 13kmpl is not bad, considering around 52 kms of drive in very bad Central Delhi that he to endure on 28th of Feb. Moreover, once the engine opens up, I assume the numbers will improve (except for use of AC in summers).

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Guys, Planning between Swift Dzire VXI and Hyundai Xcent 1.2 Kappa VTVT petrol. Would like to know the fuel efficiency of the both the cars.

I understand Xcent is recently launched, probabaly mileage of 1.2 kappa engine will help.

Thanks,
Sridhar

Hi @sridharj

The efficiency ratings of Hyundai's 1.2 Kappa is higher than Suzuki's K-series 1.2L mill. However, the latter revs freely & the Dzire could be better handler as compared to Xcent. But, the mileage numbers in Hyundais unlike Suzukis can vary a lot if (in intracity drives) you are habitual of revving the engine.

The Xcent has more space for carrying passengers in comfort & luggage, plus its got a rear AC as well. Moreover, the Xcent is priced around Rs.20k lower than comparative Dzire variants though there are no offers for Xcent as compared to around Rs.15k for Dzire.

Now the choice is yours.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Ford Figo Diesel Titanium
with Dieseltronic P2 mode all the way.
2 passengers, Wife & I, with boot full luggage. Both drove.

Drive from Blr to Hyd on 3 May.
Left 10.30 AM. Reached 6.30 PM. 3 stops totaling 90 min.
So basically drove in the middle of the heat the whole day!
100% AC on. Constant driving at 100 -120 - 140 kmph. Did 160 kmph whenever possible.

Distance: 580 km. Fuel: Tank full to tank full: 34.79 Liters.
Mileage: 16.67 kmph.

Was expecting 18+ but ...
I guess 16.67 is good enough given the heat, driving speed & ac on all through?

Skoda Octavia 2010 Model 1.9 TDI

I get pretty good mileage through highway and city, around 16.5 KMPL city and 19 KMPL highway (decent drives).

Sporty drive will reduce milage by around 2 KMPL.

2 passengers, Wife & I, with boot full luggage. Both drove.

Drive from HYD to BLR on 8 May.
Left 2 PM. Reached 9.30 PM. 2 stops totaling 30 min.
This time drove half in the afternoon heat and half in the the cool evening.
100% AC on. Constant driving at 90-100 and very occasionally 120 kmph.

Distance: 614 km. Fuel: Tank full to tank full: 29.99 Liters.
Mileage: 20.47 kmpl.

Not bad I guess!
Got almost 4 kmpl more than my earlier drive which was all through in the hot sun, 100% AC on and doing 140 constantly.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2014 Mercedes Benz C200
Driven within Delhi/Noida with the Air Conditioning on 100% of the time.
After 2 tankfulls and 1000 kms, she returns 7.8 kmpl. I am still running her in, but dont expect the efficieny to be go beyond 8.5-9 kmpl.

2011 Honda City AT
Used by Wife to go to Delhi (ITO) from Noida daily. She comes back during the peak traffic hour and the AC is on 100% of the time. The City has been consistently returning 13.8-14.3 kmpl.

2010 Skoda Laura 2.0 CR TDI DSG
Used by yours truly as a daily drive- Noida to Okhla Phase III via DND and within Delhi. Again the AC is on 100% of the time.
Consistently returning 14-15 kmpl within the City.

On the highway runs, she returns anything between 18-20 kmpl.

All our cars strictly follow the tankful to tankful method.

Trust the above is helpful.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Hi all, My 2006 Esteem VXi is one petrol saver. In the city traffic with A/C gives 12.5 to 13kmpl and without A/C 13.5 to 14 kmpl.

On highways without A/C it gives 18-19 kmpl and with A/C it gives 15 to 16.5 kmpl.

What else can one expect from a 7.5 year old Maruti. I believe proper servicing at a A.S.C right from the beginning and usage of Maruti genuine parts has made my car give this kind of F.E. By god's grace no issues faced by me till now.

Thanks
