Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Hyundai Eon + CNG kit retrofitted
Odo: 4600 kms
A/C: Mostly (80%) on but not on too-cold setting
Mileage in city (CNG mode): 19-21 km/kg depending on traffic and driving style
Mileage on highway (CNG mode): 24-27 km/kg
Driving Pattern: About 250 kms per week. Usually in the city. Normal-to-heavy traffic on route.
Method: Reset trip meter when fuel level falls to last point. Top up. Then divide number of kms run till fuel drops again to last point by kgs of gas filled.

Car : 2014 Hyundai i20 sportz(P)
Efficiency : 10.77 KMPL
Method : Fuel Log App (Tankfull to tankfull basis)
ODO : 2100KM

Since this car is used by my mom I'm not expecting much out of it. But right now this car is giving less than my Kizashi. Maybe things will improve after the first oil change.

Maruti Astar Automatic:

80% Highway, 20% city - 18 km/litre (50% AC), speed - 80 km/hr

100% highway - 19.5-20 km/litre (50% AC), speed - 80 km/hr

Tyre pressure:
Front - 34 psi
Rear - 31 psi

Last edited by Mr_Bean : 5th August 2014 at 15:33. Reason: Added tyre pressure.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Nice FE that you are getting on the Astar_AT.
Long time since I checked the FE of our AT.

BTW, why do you keep Front & Rear tyre pressure different ? IIRC MSIL suggests 32 psi for all 4 wheels.

You should check the mileage, I think you car is being driven in kerala.

I don't think I can extract more mileage than this out of this engine , the mileage figures were from the recent drive to yercaud. The kickdowns are fun, shifting to D3 at 60 gives instant acceleration on highway, once the speed goes below 40, it takes it own sweet time to reach 80.

With the MSIL recommended pressure, the ride was quite bumpy on uneven Bangalore roads. Also the car was a bit lethargic to move in peak traffic, so the trick was to increase the front psi to 34 & keep rear at 31, the ride is extremely harsh though.

The best combination is 33 at front, 30 at the rear. My tyres are placed over steel rims, the psi comes down a bit in 2-3 days after a refill.
