Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Has any one noticed a seasonal variation in fuel effeciency. My VW Polo TDi's city effeciency drops to about 15-15.5 in summer but remains at 17-17.5 rest of the year. Highway average on roads where 100+ is possible (Pune to Mumbai/Kolhapur) remains at 20, but some of the slower highways in interior Maharashtra where cruising speed varies between 70-80 but lot of 5th gear driving takes place (Pune to Phaltan/Aurangabad/Srirampur) 23-24 is very common.

Rahul
Usage of AC might be the culprit?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

i20 CRDi - for a recently completed Pune-Hyderabad round trip, gave me a mileage of 19.5 approx . Full load and luggage, with some (5-10%) city driving thrown in.

I used to get 20.x earlier.

I have another drive to Mumbai coming up in a few days, most likely solo, so that could give me a good feel of where the FE stands..

The 1.2 petrol in Dzire should at least give you 11-12 in worst conditions.. Mine never gave below 12.

Its Dzire VXI 2008 1298 cc model. Never really gave more than 8-9 kmpl with A/c running all the time in the summers in Delhi's traffic. Got it checked at Maruti Naraina (Company owned Service Station) 3-4 times in the initial months of ownership but accepted it as it is when nothing changed.

My Honda City 1.3 DX 2003 model was much better and managed to give 11-12 kmpl even in the sixth year of ownership in Delhi's bumper to bumper traffic. Sold it when I bought the Chevy Cruze but still regret selling it.

No grudge against the Chevy though. I've been a glad owner all through its ownership.

Mods - Didn't find the edit post option, so can you merge it with my previous post if possible.

For all who say Matutis are frugal, my Swift 1.2 k series gives around 12-13 kmpl in city driving conditions and 15 on long drives if driven really fast and 16-17 if driven sedately.
And here you are, getting my highway efficiency in city conditions.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Honda City (3rd Generation, MFD 2013) gives a mileage of 12.2 kmpl on road in traffic with full AC on at all times. On the highway, I get around 16.5 kmpl.
