Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2010 Ritz VXi Genus
Odo~30000 kms

New Year Trip from Bangalore to Chikmagalur
Bangalore- Chikmagalur and hills nearby ~ 400 kms Mileage 15.6 kmpl AC On 20%
Chikmagalur-Kemmanagundi-Bangalore ~ 350 kms 19.2 kmpl AC On 40%
Measured tankful to Tankful
Difference in mileage -- my guess is due to the excellent Hassan Expressway while going to chikmagalur. I was driving at quite high speeds.
whereas, while coming back took a different route Kemmanagundi-belur-Arsikere-Tumkur ,Night Drive,Good roads and Much more Scenic but two lane and was at around 80 kmph all through
Or The Bharat Petroleum Bunk at Hanumantappa Circle,Chikmagalur has some magic potion added in their petrol

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Preworshipped Innova V (Diesel)
Odo - 54K kms
Mileage in today's tankfull - 14.09 kmpl

Today while coming to office I did a tank full (the same bunk from which I had filled on 3 earlier occasions). Tank gulped in 43.08 litres of diesel (actually 1-2 litres extra after the auto-stop mechanism cut off the fuel) and the car had run for 607 kms since the last tank full, giving me a mileage of 14.09 kmpl. This is the best ever mileage I have got in my last two months of ownership (and 7 tankfulls). Finally getting a hang of how to drive the Innova to extract the best FE figures.

340 kms were done on an outstation trip (to and fro) with 6 adults and 2 kids (speeds ranging between 80-100 kmph on open stretches) and the balance 267 odd kms were done for my daily office commutes (single occupant). AC ON most of the times. Only during 2-3 late night return trips from office to home (due to very cold weather) AC was switched off. Also for outstation trip I had increased the tyre pressures to 34 and 35 psi (front and rear). I believe this might have contributed a bit to the increased mileage.

Thanks for the advice. Will check in tank-full method and and update.

Please keep in mind - mine is driven in a far ideal condition than standard test conditions , I guess.

Single person at 75% of time
75% highway drive
25% AC
Near-zero luggage
Speed: 50-70KMPH most of the time.

And I am sure, I can get more

Those are highway FE only. I dont think we can do 68Km/hr in any city.
for 110-120+ it should be around 17-18. Whenever my kids are not with me i normally see such figures.

How many kms your punto has clocked till date? Also, lot depends on Clean Airfilter and quality of fuel. I stick to COCO operated fuel bunks. Specially Indian oil but these days I am doing a tankful from Shell only. Try that and also take a help of instant FE meter that should help you to improve on FE.

Car: 2014 DZire VXi
Odometer reading: 2335
FE: 16.4 kmpl
Where: 507 km, of which 60% was on 2-lane highway
AC: minimal use of AC, probably 25-30%
Method: tankfull to tankfull (MID AVG reading for this duration was 20.4kmpl)

I'm hoping these figures would improve once the engine opens up. Fellow 1.2 VVT petrol owners, after how many kms on the odo would this engine start giving best FE?

As mentioned earlier, MID reading for this 500+kms was 20.4 kmpl. I have come to a conclusion (from the past couple of tank fulls) that MID AVG readings are around 4 kmpl more than tankfull ones. Maruti should have calibrated it properly!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Well the Civic VMT recorded a 21 kmpl today on the highway.

Speeds b/w 70-90
RPM 2k-2.5k
Gearshifts - Before 2k

Overall a joy to drive on the highway.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Tata Nano XT usually gives me a mileage of between 16-18 kmpl on a tank full.

The above mentioned figure is for city driving with AC On at speed 1 all the time.

My Punto has done 6k kms. I too fill from Indian oil bunk but not the COCO bunks. Recently did a road trip at 100-110 got FE of 17kmpl. So I guess the efficiency improves at lower speeds.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

XUV W8 - 2013

City - 10.00 ~ 12.00 KMPL
Highway - 14.00~ 18.00 KMPL

Highest mileage achieved when all tyre inflated at 33 PSI and with AC and just 2 person on-board driving on 6 lane highway.

Lowest highway mileage noticed when car is fully loaded and with rear AC also switched ON.

Yes Correct. On EW when I drive around 80-90Km/hr i get to see such fantastic FE. When it comes to achieving best FE i try to keep my punto around 2300-2400 Rpm in 5th gear.
Also, just FYI from last 4-5 months I am using Shell Diesel only.

I think you will experi. a all together new punto once you are do 8-9k kms or first oil change.

Sharing a fig from recent Mumbai trip.
What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?-img_20150117_195052.jpg

thats 30.9km/ltr

I got the tankful done in pune from shell (auto cut-off). In the above pics you can see the Fuel gauge as well. So, all in all i can say that MID is pretty accurate as well.

Sharing FE for round trip Pune- Mumbai-Pune as well.
