Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Ford Figo Aspire Titanium Diesel car's average mileage at 2200 kms (approx.) is 20.4 kmpl.

Past three refuels have indicated actual mileage of 22 kmpl (approx.) in city driving.

... and this is my first diesel car, shod with the factory fitted MRF ZVTS (sick!).

Ford Fiesta July 2015
Diesel 1.5 ltr SOHC
Blr-Dandeli-Blr
1150km
19kmpl
100% AC on
80% good highway, rest mix of poor to ok roads, with too many turns as it was Ghat area.
Driven at insane speeds as long as it was the highway.
Been driven <100kmph, would give 23-26kmpl.

How do u measure the fuel efficiency?? Is it the tankful method or is it what the MID displays? Also, is the mileage for city driving or highway driving?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Alto K10 2010 model gives approximately 17 on city and 20 on highway with A/C on. Without A/C the figure goes up to 19 on city and 21-22 on highway.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Vehicle: Hyundai Elite i20 Asta | 2015 | Diesel
Odo: 5,400 (approx)
City-Highway: 80-20 (average)
Method: tankful
FE: 13.14 km/l (MID AVG was 22.1 km/l)

This is the average FE i've got since purchasing the car in Aug '15. A trip to Pune via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway yielded 16.05 kmpl. This is still lower than my expectations, not sure if this will improve after the first oil-change?

I also suspect for the first few months I've been topping-up at a bunk which is ripping me off (charging me for more fuel than is dispensed), I have now changed bunks and FE has improved from ~ 12 kmpl to 14 kmpl with mostly city driving.

I measure fuel efficiency (22 kmpl) on tankful method. MID says average efficiency for 2.2k kms run till date is 20.4 kmpl.

The drive is essentially city with nil usage of toll roads from Faridabad, HR to Laxmi Nagar, New Delhi & back in peak traffic during the day. But no AC usage these days, with defogger used in mornings to clear front & rear windscreens.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

New Ford Figo 1.5D

ODO: 3150KM

Route: 100% City in peak hours - Morning 9am and evening 6.30pm

Travel from Westmost part of Pune to Eastmost part of Pune all though the city with no open patch

Distance: 17KM one way

Occupancy: Mostly single (3 for weekends)

AC: 70% of the time (now with the cold weather no need of AC at least for half of the morning journey)

Fuel Filled : 20L

Distance Travelled: 305Km

Actual FE : 15.25Km/L

MID FE : 15.4Km/L

This is a bit on lower side IMHO; but must surely be due to my driving style being a bit aggressive.

For the current refill, I have altered my driving style a bit and I am being more gentle on the throttle. There seems to be a slight improvement with the MID FE showing 17.1Km/L for the 90Km's done from refill.

I have a Mumbai trip planned for the weekend, so the average is bound to shoot up considerably once the car gets the highway that it so loves.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

WagonR k10

- 100% Highway(100-110 kmph), 100% AC - 18.5kmpl
- 80% highway+20% city, 100% AC - 17.5 kmpl
- 100% city, 40% AC - 16.7 kmpl

Each tankful gives a range of 400-430 kms in city and 450-500kms on the highway.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Ford Figo 1.5D

ODO: 3650Km

50% City - 50% Highway - 3 persons on board

Fuel Filled : 23.92Lt

Distance Travelled : 420Km

Average FE : 17.6KM/Lt

MID FE : 18.4 KM/Lt

The highway run was actually via old Mumbai - Pune Highway upto Karjat and the last 30-35 Km's are littered with speed breakers, on an average it's every 150m or so; it was such a pain to see am amazing road ruined by mindless speedbreakers.

While returning, topped it up at Talegaon and it returned 25.5Km/Lt till my home (i.e.37.5Km's).
