I would take it in a heartbeat only if it worked on the EX variant of my Verna. Here are a few third-party options available -

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Drove father-in-law's Vento TDi for more than 1800 kms (includes in-city roaming around during 4 days stay) during our road-trip to hometown and back. However, could only track fuel efficiency through the MID reading which I had duly reset at start of trip. MID read overall 19.5 kpl. No tracking of tank to tank since I wasn't the one paying for fuel!

Honestly though, I had higher hopes from Vento than what I achieved. In comparison, I had rented Amaze and Jazz (both diesel) from Myles couple of months back. Both were more than 60k kms run and I was able to achieve 22 kpl (+/- 0.5kpl) on 500+ kms trips with tank to tank method. Looks like Honda diesel engines are pretty fuel efficient!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

First update on my first diesel car on this thread.

Ford Aspire Sports Diesel;
City with AC - 15kmpl
Highways with AC- 17-18 kmpl

The RPM hardly sees below 2k rpms, add the wider and bigger tyres on the Sports.

Fuel efficient but very noisy :(. And lower power than the Volkswagen, Skoda and Hyundai diesels

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 5 and half year old WagonR is giving a mileage of :-
8kmpl in city
14kmpl on highway

- with 100% AC on.

Brezza gives a mileage of :-
15-16 kmpl in city, bumper to bumper traffic

Highway mileage of Brezza fluctuates with driving pattern, if driven spiritedly in 3 digit speeds, it hovers around 17.5kmpl. If driven sedately, climbs hoti 21.5kmpl

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

On a recent 2200 km trip to Bangalore from Mumbai in my 2008, 1 lakh 50 thousand km run Swift Diesel, I got an overall mileage of 20 kmpl, it was driven at 3 digit speeds on the highways throughout the trip, the Karnataka side of the highways are so awesome that if you don't look at the speedo, you will hard pressed to tell your actual speed.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My 2014 Dec Fluidic Verna CRDi SX which has done 97k kms is aging like fine wine. On a recent trip to Karwar and back from Bengaluru, it put out a phenomenal mileage of 20 kmpl. Some heavy footed driving in the ghats near Kumta-Sirsi and then the NH4 (three digit speeds) all the way from Haveri to Bengaluru. Tanked up the return in Karwar and on reaching Blore had one bar off the half way mark. 100% AC throughout journey.

My 2013 PUNTO MJD after doing 1 lakh km, now returns a 14 kmpl in city and a 17 kmpl on highway. Though I am someone with a heavy foot. But before it clocked 80k, it used to be 16 kmpl in city and 19 kmpl on highways.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I would recommend to go for it - will be very useful.

Two things that I miss in the Verna are a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and also a hand brake alarm that makes a sound

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I use Fillup App to measure FE for my car and always go for Tank full. I drive an Etios G SP with Michelin XM2 185/65 R14 shoes and I am not soft at the pedal at all.(On Highways 100-120 kmph with occasional bursts in unmentionable territory I get around 14 and in Delhi I get around 10.5 with AC on all the time in both cases). Majority of the highway drive is on Delhi-Nainital Highway.

My best till now has been 18.1 KM/L driven conservatively on Delhi-Nainital Highway with AC on when I didnt cross 90Km/h even once. But its too boring to drive that way.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2007 Honda Civic done 100k kms.

11-13.7 KMPL in Mumbai. Driven during non peak and odd hours.

Tank full to tank full method. I think this is a decent mileage from a 1.8 litre engine. I avoid driving beyond 2k RPM on "normal" drives and keep speeds around 70 KMPH and upshift as soon as possible.

Hey this looks pretty bad for a K10 engine. Probably worth a checkup.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Checking in to update the FE of my wife' 2008 Santro.
We usually get 9-sh in City; Tankfull - tankfull method.
Did a highway run to Cochin, speeds varing in 3 digits and it returned 15.5 and I am surprised
