| ![]() Car: Skoda Superb (2012) TDI AT Odo: 1,11,252 Distance covered: 440 kms Road Conditions: 75% Highway 25% City Traffic (Mumbai City/ Pune City) Highway Speeds - 80- 120 Mileage displayed on MID: 23.6 Kmpl Actual Fuel - Fill up at Shell (Wakad) - Top Up at Shell Kharadi - 21 Litres. Load - Four Passengers + Bags The Car has always left me pleasantly surprised with the FE. I tend to be more of a quick driver than a fast driver with a defensive driving style. I have even seen numbers as high as 27 on the MID. The City efficiency of 12+ consistently (in Pune) is also a good number for a large car. Car: Tata Nano XTA Odo: 28,883 Typical Usage - 99% City MID - 14 Kmpl Last edited by torquecurve : 18th February 2019 at 15:21. |

| ![]() Car: Creta 1.6 SX Manual Fuel: Diesel Current odometer: 2315 kms Method: MID I was shocked with the Mileage the car delivered in my Mumbai Silvassa trip. As the vehicle was < 1000 KM, I had maintained the engine at < 1800 RPM. However the second Silvassa trip involved spirited driving ~3000RPM and the mileage dropped. FE sedate driving (< 1800 RPM) : 23.2 kmpl FE Spirited driving: 19.6 kmpl FE city: 16.8 kmpl |

| ![]() How exactly do you manage to extract those numbers in city? I ask because i own the same car and even with non enthusiastic driving (when my dad drives it), with lets say 50% city and 50% semi highway conditions (as in not free flowing like highway but Delhi-Gurgaon through NH8 has no real traffic signals or stops), and rpm maxing out at 2500, rarely 3000 since its my dad who is driving we manage 12.5. That is a vast difference! |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I am not a fuel efficiency conscious driver, but I had to take a picture of this since this is the first time in 2 years of owning this car that I saw these numbers on the MID. In reality, it maybe 2-3 kmpl less than what is displayed, but that is still good enough. This was the figure after a 65kms round trip to the airport. The tank was topped up on the way just after leaving home and I kept a steady 80 kmph with just one pedal to the metal moment which didn't last long. Less traffic on a Sunday afternoon helped. |

The point is the difference even when using that (As is my experience in other cars) is not that huge, we are talking more than 30% here! Edit: Even then like i said its not true 100% city conditions in my case, it would be lower in that scenario, having said all that its all in line with my expectations and with engine performance on offer, im more than happy, but the difference here is large enough here to ask the OP as to how he manages that. | ![]() Well, there is no straight answer to the question. I have had a lower MID display of 15.2 when I filled up from a new outlet. Second, as we all know fuel eff is directly proportional to the traffic density. My office is around 30Km away, I take around 60 minutes in the morning and in the evening it takes me around 70 to 90 minutes. I still remember in 2014 I used to do marathahalli to WHITEFIELD ( around 8Km) in 45 to 60 minutes and my scorpio used to give me a mileage of 7 kmpl! The same scorpio started to give me around 10 once I shifted to Mumbai. Scorpio to creta is a welcome shift when I consider the fuel expenses. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Surprisingly good FE from a Pajero with 2.8 4M40 engine. Approx 980 kilometers run on 7500 rupees worth of fuel. (Noted from when the low fuel light glowed). A Fuel Efficiency of 9.15 kmpl. Half the distance through highways at speeds lesser than 100 and the other half working the first four gears for short ~10km runs. I guess the highway runs have given upwards of 11 kmpl. Note - The engine has been tweaked for more power. |
