What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

my baleno has clocked about 98,000 kms and gives me about 11.5 to 12.5 in the city with 100% ac
and about 13.4 to 15 on the highway if i keep it around 100 , when at times i constantly keep it in the 120-130 range as far as possible it gives about 12 to 12.5 .again all figures with ac switched on

Thanks Abhijit for giving me hope. I am just checking on my newly acquired baleno, but from the rough look at the fuel gauge looks like I am getting about 10 in city (50% AC).

My poor little unassuming Indica DLS returns a whopping 15.3kmpl in city with AC on. Without AC (winters, rainy seasons) it returns 16.5kmpl in city. Highways the max I have noticed is 19kmpl with spirited driving.

Baleno's fuel gauge is one of the worst I have seen. Don't go by the gauge, it has a mind of its own. Next time try this, redline the car in 1st and 2nd. You will see the fuel gauge drop down by quite a margin instantly. Drive around under 2000rpm after sometime it goes back up again. Best way to judge FE is tank to tank method.

santro 13.5 15.8 17.6
indigo 16.8 19.6 23.8
m-800 15.5 17 19.5

The best on highway at around 80-90 with no AC and average with 65% AC

generally the gauge is pretty accurate till you use the first 10 -15 lts ,then its suddenly nose-dives southwards.
you should check top -up to top up and preferably do it in the morning around seven as there would be less rush at the outlet .
so that you can get it filled up perfectly to the brim as well as gain from the better density of the fuel

Got a Swift VDI last month. before first service I got
20 KmPL on highways ( drove it 500 km the first day) and
18 KmPL in the city.
AC on 75% of the time and
BP Hi Speed Diesel. She is quieter that way

have been keeping a record of my mileage since I bought the car in 2000 and made it into an excel sheet. then brought it onto powerpoint for conversion to jpg. the graph shows the dramatic early increase in fe over the first few months and then slowly over the next few years. This graph gives overall mileage from day 1. so current mileage is better than shown. about 18 in city and 22-23 highway. around filling#140 i moved from blore to goa. click the link below..

My Verna gives 19 on highways with AC. Havent calculated in city traffic.
Yamaha RX100 gives 36 in city and 45 in highway.
