Fuel efficiency of M800 LPG

My 1996 Maruti 800 returns the following fuel efficiency figures. This mileage is achieved by predominantly driving in and around coimbatore.

In Petrol: 18 kmpl

In LPG: 15 kmpl

these are average of past 2 years

Is this mileage ok or not?

Total 504 kms.
240 kms on the Hyderabad - Medak highway.
for a large part of the trip, the ac was on with the air intake set to fresh

120 kms, early morning drive to Shamshabad airport (twice)
onward at 4:30 AM -> ac on for 5 mins, off for 10 mins, on for 5 mins
Return at 6:00 AM -> AC on for most part

144 kms inside the city, mostly Masab Tank to Madhapur.
50-50

1968chensaro -> the petrol milage seems to be very good.
Is this with heavy loads or just 1 or 2 passengers.
Also are you filling more air than recommended.
My questions are because I think thats very good milage for city driving.

That's a very good mileage for a 13 year old car. By the way how many kms has this car run ?

That's a really good mileage your getting from your car. I had a 1996 model M 800 and I used to get the same FE with a mix of city (60%) and highway (40%) driving here in Bangalore. I must add that my driving style was very sedate.

hi,

I get clost to 10 - 11 (depends on the traffic) in city on my elantra crdi with the ac on and on the highway its definitely more than 17. Once on 4th Jan this year, i drove to Mysore from Bangalore and managed almost 19. They key here was that I never went over 100 kmph. I kept maintaining 90-100 as much as possible.

cheers,

alphamike

The best possible speed for optimum FE - 80 - 100 Kmph. But with the new generation cars its very difficult to keep to such low speeds.

God bless.....

I have just had the worst mileage figures, 17 kmpl with the last tankful, of the 7 and half months of ownership of my Palio MJD. This also happened to be the first time period when the AC was on at least 80% of the time with no forays on the highway.

I am getting around 14kmpl (50% AC) in my Indica Xeta GLS. i usually travel around 2pm and come back home by 11pm.
Traffic is minimal during these times and hence the good mileage.

My i20 Asta gives about 13~14 kmpl in city with a bit of hypermiling techniques. Its just about 1500 kms so far, so no extreme measures. I get about 16kmpl on long drives.

The mileage you are getting is fantastic, are you really sure that's the mileage you are getting with AC.

Mileage on my nano
Drive from hyd to nizamabad
speed was mostly around 80-90 kmph
20 kmpl
I hav ea feeling that mileage should get better if driven in a lower rpm band - around 70kmph
