Alto Lxi 6000+ kms (Mumbai city + Highway)
Mostly w/o AC, TP 30-31 psi (while filling)
City: 19 - 20 kmpl (snail-pace and hiccuping traffic).
H'way: 23 - 25 kmpl (cruising at 70-80kmph with occasional bursts).
Had posted FE earlier.
The cumulative FE figure seems to be climbing slowly but surely with the ODO.
Kmpa (km per annum) is pretty low; being below 7000kms (too bad, hope to correct this).

Beat fuel efficiency

So what is the word on FE of Beat.

Is the FE similar to Maruti 800, better, worse...?

Mind you, Maruti 800's technology is 25 years old, if not more.

Is any car, other than Nano that is, bettering Maruti 800 in FE.

The lucky owners of Beat are requested to throw some light on this as Beat is reputed to be very frugal.

My i20 Magna Petrol @ 19000 kms.
Mileage increased significantly after 3rd service. In Bangalore city with 70% AC, consistently clocking 13 (My alto used to give me similar figures in Mumbai city).

On the highway, its giving around 17.5. This was with 4 people, AC on 75% and speeds around 120

FIAT Linea Mileage

I couldn't help but open a new thread here for posting my Mileage experience yesterday with the Linea Dy Pk - Diesel.

In my last thread (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...nce-linea.html), the maximum mileage that i had reported was some 19 odd.

Yesterday, I got a whooping 22.4 on my way back from Pune...

Here are the details -

Was tanking up at the 1st petrol pump on my way from Pune to Mumbai (I think the area is called Urse, not too sure). Considering that almost 20% of the journey from this point to Mumbai would be down hill, decided to check whats the best Mileage I could get and hence reset the car information system (CIS) to Zero, and the results were outstanding.

From here to Lonavla and then down hill to Khopoli, at an average speed of about 95, I GOT A WHOOPING 29.6!!! All of it without the AC on. A distance of about 40 odd KMS - 50% down hill and 50% flat road.

From the petrol pump to the end of expressway @ panvel, a total distance of 79 KMS, I got 24.9 (just shy of 25 KMPL, sigh!). Here, almost 50% of the time my AC was on. 25% down hill and the rest was a flat road.

From the petrol pump, till Sion, where i stay, I finally got a mileage of 22.4!!

Most of the time I was on an average speed of about 110 - 120 (though, my CIS shows an average speed of 90)

Am still smiling!

I got Linea, diesel emotion pack. Just completed 10,000 last week, about 10 months old.

I have traveled on Mumbai Nashik road a few times. I have observed that on a return trip to Mumbai, never had the overall fuel efficiency drop below 18. The best is when I drove with AC for about 50% of time and speeds never exceeding 110 with 4 people on board for about 22 average on a return trip. The worst was at around 18 with me alone, screeching through the ghats, touching speeds of 140, AC on all the time and driving alone. The driving tips on fuel efficiency helps a lot. Fast acceleration, deceleration, erratic braking hurts real bad when the speeds cross 110 odd.

On Mumbai Pune expressway, at speeds of 80-100, without AC I have often managed between 22-25. All these numbers are from the display and I don't calculate anything on my own.

Adding F.E figures of my car.

The car has been giving consistent 15.xx in city with my earlier driving style, around 60 kms a day for 6 days week.

I changed my driving style wee bit and the avg jumped to 16.xx since last two tankfulls. Another tankfull today and tankfull-tankfull average came out to be 18.56.

Driving at 45 kmph, accelerating to 50 kmph and overtaking at 60 kmph and driving sedately at 45-50 kmph on middle or left lane.

Car: Maruti Omni-E 1997, Carb. I wonder what will be F.E when I shift to a FI car.

PS: Commute route, Noida Sec-62,Sec 12, Sec-16-15, Delhi Border, MV-1, ITO Chungi underpass-Geeta Colony Bridge- ISBT-North Campus and back.

Infractions: 0/1 (5)

My 2003 Yamaha Enticer's FE was 52-54kmpl on highway with single rider.
49-50kmpl with pillion rider. 45-46kmpl in city when i bought that.
after 5years FE dropped to 45-46 on Highway, and 39-42 in city.
after i tuned in 2009 83kmpl on Highway with single rider, 76-79kmpl with pillion rider, 60-65kmpl in city. driving with frequent gear changing and full throttle. 45-47kmpl
tyre pressure(26psi front, 33psi rear)

My Padmini's FE is 10-13 in city and 17-18 on highway with 102.5 jet. Tyre pressure (32psi)

i dont care for my Rajdoot's mileage.

Maruti 800's engine was updated 10 years back with MPFI when Euro II norms came. Initially the 800 got a 5 speed transmission and 16valve engine (the one used in Alto now), this 16valve 800 had peppy performance and best FE seen on any 800 variant but this engine was withdrawn later due to reduce cost. The 800's FE is also due to low weight, if it had 5 speed transmission the FE could have been better.

To-the-point explanation. Thanks.

It mean that it will not be realistic to expect the 1200 cc cars launched in the recent years to deliver better FE when compared to Maruti 800.

Some of these cars are quoting very attractive FE figures in their ads.

My query to this forum is, is any of these cars even approaching, what to talk of surpassing, the FE of Maruti 800.

I am talking of Beat, Ritz, Figo, and others.

The owners are requested to respond.
