My NHC i-dsi gives 11 in the city and
the Honda Civic gives 8-9.
This is with a/c on 75% of the time and in again, 75% of the time in very heavy peak hour traffic including going through opera house diamond market where there are people all over the road and you have to take the car out using nothing but the clutch and break. Can't even touch accelerator unless it is to move the stationary car.

My 2003 Santro is returning only 7-9kmpl in city traffic..this has been the case for the past 1 month.I had the clutch replaced and the FE hasnt improved at all...is this normal for a 2003 santro ZIP DRIVE???

How ever during a recent trip from Chennai to Hosur and back,I got a whooping 19 odd kmpl. What could be the culprit???

Accord 2.0l iVTEC - approximately 10 kpl with a mix of town, A roads and motorways. They really should have provided a 6th gear.

Bad traffic conditions at Bhopal have taken a toll on my baleno's FE. Manage just about 9 kmpl with aircon at 19 deg cel. and full blower speed.
A drop of around 4.5 kmpl from the average I got at Chandigarh.

Regards

A/C should be kept ideally around 24 C and at medium or low blower speed. High speed should be used only to get it cool fast.

Yeah but I really sweat a lot and this heat these days really gets the better of me easily. Last summers (at chandigarh), even I used to set the temp around 22, but this time am finding the Max cooling quite comforting.

Both the traffic and climate at Bhopal is really bad for driving!

Also, I find no difference in FE if I use higher octane fuel. Only the engine feels a bit smoother. Is it the case with everyone or I should do a re-calculation?

I think it should improve a bit. I'm not sure though.

FE is pretty similar with high octane fuel, but the engine definitely feels smoother.

Dzire ZXi. It gives 13 in city and 16'ish on highway with some enthusiastic driving. AC on all the time.

Whether I use regular or premium petrol hardly seems to make a difference to the fuel consumption, however I do second echo77's opinion. Engine does feel a bit smoother with the more expensive stuff. It might just be my imagination though.
