Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

RECORDED THE BEST MILEAGE FIGURES TILL NOW!!...

What: '07 Ford IKON Flair
When: Recent trip to Bangalore last weekend.
Where: 75% Highway, 25% City. ie , 450 kms Highway and ~150kms City
How: Moderate driving. 20% Ripping, and 80% with feather light throttle with planned overtaking maneuvers.

599kms run on mere 32.45 Liters of Petrol!!... Recording an FE of 18.45kms!!..

This is the best I have achieved till now . While in city I used only 1-2-3 Gears, hence I guess the highway mileage alone should be >20kmpl!!.. Unbelievable.

Winter is definitely acting up!!..

Brilliant! I guess light foot and 5th gear on Ikon does the trick. I have personally seen 21kmpl on Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Ikon taxi. They drive at 70kmph all the way with RPM not crossing 2500 on 5th gear.

I did a recent fuel efficiency test on our I10 1.2 VTVT Magna. The details test report is here at:

In short, we managed to extract 18.74 kmpl in varied conditions during our two day trip to Kolhapur and Belgaum.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Grande Punto 1.2

From the past 1month I've been driving extensively in city (one full tank per week)
when I once filled up my tank I calculated and the mileage was 11kmpl.
Blame it on me-I was pretty rash with my italian babe.
After that I've been handling her with a little more care and now I'm getting 12.2kmpl

Caring means...
* Not braking hard by maintaining maximum possible distances between vehicles
* Switching off at signals
* Curbing my racing instincts in city
* Changing my lanes much early thanstopping and turning.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Swift - 40k(kms) -VDI
City - 14-16
Highway - @ < 80kmph - close to 20-21 and above 80kmph - around 18

Jetta - 600kms old - 2.0 TDI Diesel
City - Around 12-14
Highway - 23 (atleast thats what the display unit says in my last trip on saturday)

Too early to judge the Jetta mileage. All values based on the display unit and not by refill calculation.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

With every line approximately 50 Litre Fuel Tank Capacity / 9 Lines = 5.55L / Line

What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?-img2011020100287.jpg

710.9km done this tankful till now & 3 lines still remain. So approximate mileage is 21.33 kmpl. But a more accurate reading will be obtained when i go to fill up. The Under-rated Mahindra Logan. And this is 100% City Driving with 100% a/c. Thank God for winters.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Earlier:
Maruti Zen 2005 Model: ~18kmpl inside Bangalore city, and ~21 on highways

Now:
Tata Safari 2.2VTT 2010: ~14 on highway, ~12.5 on daily commute to Bangalore from Hosur

I usually use A/c only 25% of time.

City FE: 16+ (100% Auto AC) : Average speed 25kmph
Highway FE: 21+ (100% Auto AC) : Average speed 100 kmph.
I always follow the rule of jently pressing the accelerator and also never speed to kiss the back of a truck and then suddenly jam the brakes.
