Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Chevy Beat:

City:
B2B-14 kpl with 100% A/C
Normal conditions-16 kpl with 100% A/C

Highway:
Speeds of 90 to 110 kmph-18 kpl with 100% A/C
Speeds of 120+ kmph-17 kpl

All figures, after calculating separately with the aforementioned conditions.

Actual Fuel Efficiency on my Skoda Laura TDi Ambiente

Here's the actual fuel efficiency for the first six months of my October 2010 Skoda Laura 2.0 TDi Ambiente.

The FE is calculated very meticulously by me by strictly topping up at the same nozzle of the same petrol pump at nearly the same time of day (early morning) strictly on 'automatic shut-off' mode, and then dividing the actual distance travelled by the number of litres consumed of fuel (ordinary diesel) consumed.

Total kilometres run since purchase: 3567 (average of 509 per month).

Cumulative average since I bought the car on 23 October 2010: 14.34 kmpl (100% self-drive; no chauffeur, not even valet parking )

Best average during any highway run: 22.72 kmpl on Nasik-Mumbai route in Nov 2010 (touching speeds of 120-140 kmph regularly)

Best average for a tankful during city run: 14.54 kmpl between 20th Nov and 24th Dec 2010 (582.8 km)

Petrol price hike??? Who cares?!!?!?!?!?!?!

@vinay - I drive an Accent CRDi but haven't managed to get anything more than 16 in city with AC.

But glad to see that you have completed 200k on your Accent Viva CRDi..

Any special care that you follow given that the 3 pot CRDi was infamous for break down after 80k ??

I know we are going

Cheers

My inlaws i10 Manual gives around 10.5 . Another friend gets around 10. So you're not the only one ,vivek.

Really wonder how they calculate the ARAI mileage for i10s
i10 Auto was supposed to give more than 14, if I remember what the dealer promised me correctly!
With escalating fuel prices, ARAI and the government should come with STRONGER guidelines on the FE promises of a car.

I was shocked the day when I went to Hyundai showroom to see a poster that claimed a mileage of 42*** KMPL.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

@JishD

My i10 Kappa2 manual transmission gives me around 10 kmpl in city.. i hardly cross 30-40 kmph in city due to traffic and have a/c on for 90% of time.

Highways.. If i drive at a constant speeds in 80-100kmph, i can get a FE of 18-19 kmph without A/c that is! Otherwise, with 100% a/c , fully loaded with people and luggage and with power driving, it gives me 14kpmh

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

6 years about to finish on my Indica V2 Petrol (BS3)

Highway - 15-16 km/lit
City - 11-12 km/lit

A/C is ON and OFF depending on the weather and my mood - 50 % more or less.

I drive sane and the overall efficiency has not changed much with any type of petrol used and or additives (system G) - its been 13.5-14 km/lit consistently.

Max I get is 16+ on my highway runs to Kalyan and Nashik with 100% AC ON.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

City driving is in pathetic shape in our city, bumper to bumper traffic means getting your own bumper scraped by some odd cyclist/motorcyclist/cycle-rickshaw/auto!

5 and 1/2 yr old Santro-
Highway- 12-14kms/lit (with AC on for about 85%)
City- 8-9kms/lit(with AC)

Ritz-
Highway- (varies a lot depending on the state of traffic,if got stuck in jam,god help it.)I've got varied range from 15.01kms/lit to 20.84kms/lit on same stretch of highway.
City- 12-13kms/lit

Maruti 800-
Highway- ~16-17kms/lit
City- ~11kms/lit.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

6 month old Fiesta TDCi SXi. Weekend trip from Trivandrum to Cochin and back, on the so called highways of Kerala. Had done around 60kms in Trivandrum city prior to the drive and also around 30 kms in Cochin city.
5 adults, 2 kids and some luggage, driving sedately, crossed 80 kmph rarely, AC on all times, Fiesta gave me an average of 19.5 kmpl. Am I happy or what.

Hyundai is fooling people with 20+kmpl claims. Potential i10 buyers should note that FE in city has ranged from 10-12 for manual. FE was the only reason I went for i10 else would have chosen Swift Zxi or Figo Titanium. Well My car is due for first oil change and I have my hopes on that. I would report any changes in FE after service.

My Crv gave 5.8 kpl on highway with very fast driving. In regular driving style it gives around 8 kpl on highways.

Drove from bangalore to hyderabad, filled it up three times... every 230 km i would be like were is the pump ...

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Fiat Stile SLX (2008):
* 100% AC city - 12 kmpl
* 100% AC highway - 14-15 kmpl

Never run the car without AC or with windows down, so no idea about those numbers.

Chennai daily office commute of 20 KM (but not bumper to bumper traffic, Shell petrol)

14.5 km/pl - always on a/c in peak summer (April/May)

Highway (during peak summer, full a/c) - 18.5 kmpl (Shell and Reliance petrol)
Now my Wagon R is four years old with 49K ODO and i am getting consistent mileage till date. Recently checked and i am getting 14.5 KMPL during the summer with full time A/C in city traffic (congested route from Tambaram to Sholinganallur in Chennai, but i won't call it as bumper to bumper kind of traffic). Always using Shell petrol.

During last September went on a high way trip of 1000 KM and got 17.5 KMPL (car is fully loaded with four people and always with A/C).
