Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

1999 Carb Zen:
Full city run, 90 % of time no A/C
FE:12.108
Earlier I used to get 13.8, 14.2 KMPL.
Now nearing the 80,000 km service time. Maybe I will hope for a better FE
after service.
Or is the above Okay for a 12 year old?

It is not instantenous mileage. Its the normal average calculator. I know its not accurate but still wanted to show off!

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Toyota Altis Diesel D-4D. 2000 kms on the odo. It returns a phenomenal 17+kmpl in City traffic and gave me 21.4 kmpl on a highway trip to jaipur. Always driven with the AC on.

FE was confirmed by both the MID and the tank to tank method.

excellent FE. Must be one of the most efficient petrol cars on the road. Your highway mileage must be in the mid 20s. What about the tankfuls before these two?

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I felt i should share this with you all.My Santro was giving me an awful mileage of 7.5 to 8kmpl.I even got the engine tuning and what not done for it.The mileage climbed to 9kmpl.A point to note is that there was some sound from silencer which i had been overlooking. One fine day,i got the HASS people to lift up the car and was shocked to see that the silencer had rusted and developed a hole right next to the fuel tank and was directly heating the tank.Got the silencer replaced and average in city has climbed up to 13kmpl.I feel that all the while, the petrol was being evaporated by the silencer heat and i was cursing the car for it.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Well, i am very disappointed with my Honda Civic's average.
In city, i have a travelling from Juhu to SEEPZ, in Andheri East, and i get a mileage close to 6.5/7. On highways, i get close to 12. Infact, i got an average on 11.7 on the NH3 highway as i had gone to Shirdi.
Really disappointing to get such pure figures on a car that i have maintained with all love and heart.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

I have a Maruti Esteem. My runs include 40% city and 60% highway. I have an average of around 13 to 14 kmpl (tankful to tankful). Inside city, it drops to 10-11 kmpl and in the highway I can squeeze out around 18 kmpl. 100% AC all the time.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2000 Ford Ikon 1.6l rocam - 50 - 50% Ac usage - Light foot - only city - 12 Kmpl Highway ( Noida - barelly - 17 kmpl max 90 kmph light foot AC 90%

Heavy foot never drops below 10 kmpl

a little OT - One thing to note - before i changed the thermostat which was stuck open My FE was not worth mentioning , after the thermostat was replaced my FE has been climbing. Must be the ECM running rich as temperature never became half point. How i found out - temp gauge never reached the usual half point.
