Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

2011 Hyundai i20 Asta CRDi - 2500 Kms Old
I get in Mumbai traffic from Dadar to Malad & back with full AC abotu 15-16 Kmpl.
The car is still in the initial few months, possibly would go further than this.
Yet to do a long trip will comment on that later.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Update on my 2005 Nov Baleno LXI
40000 Km done
Highway ( round trip from Shantiniketan 2 weeks back, full AC, 4 adults & luggage equivalent to another adult) 12.5 km/litre and I wasnt driving with an intention to save on my fuel bills.I think thats kinda decent.
City driving with 50% AC around 9-10km/litre.

Hi goandude,

My last few fuel effeciency figures have been as follows;

a) 16.55 kmpl
b) 15.04 kmpl
c) 15.02 kmpl
d) 15.80 kmpl
e) 16.60 kmpl
f) 18.89 kmpl
g) 19.06 kmpl

First 5 figures were achieved during Delhi summer when AC was used 100%. During the last two fuel effeciency figures, AC was seldom used.
I have not yet done a highway run on this car. Hence can only make a wild guess.

Regards

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Made a 211.5 km highway trip yesterday in my new swift vdi.FE measured by auto cut-off method at the same pump and the same dispenser.
FE returned was 25 kmpl with ac on 25% of the time, and speeds ranging from 80-100.
Next time will drive consciously for FE.Lets see if I can get 28kmpl.This is my first diesel car and I am loving it.

That's an awesome figure!

Can't wait for my swift to arrive, specially since I get below figures currently on my little WagonR.
2004 WagonR VXi - After a chennai - trivandrum drive with almost 100%ac - 14.57 kmpl.

2006 Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi- 46kmpl.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Honda Civic AT - In the city, driving through athe congested JVLR daily, used to give me not more than 6.9 kmpl. But then the petrol prices increased by Rs 1.80 - my FE went up straight to 8.2 KMPL - yeeehhaaaaaaww

Hyundai i10 AT - This is a car my wife drives day in and day out - in and around Powai for all her errands - basically it's a stop-start-stop with full ac on errand car right now - never gave me more than 7 KMPL - but then my wife's driving skills have improved, this time she got 9.2 KMPL. WOW !!

All FE is measured by the tank full to tankfull method.

Interesting - Civic 1.8L AT (1,300 kg) and i10 1.2L AT (900 kg) both almost giving same FE?
