My Safari Dicor 4X4 VX averages between 8.3 and 10.5 KMPL....I calculate the milage every time I tank up and have done just under 4,000 kms so far, including hill driving (30%), highway driving(60%) and puttering frusturatingly around in the city(10%). The dealer sounded sympathetic when I mentioned this figure to him(though I wasn't exactly complaining) and promised to "do something" during the first service at 5,000 kms. I plan to expressly forbid him to "do something" about it when I give her in for the service , coz I fear he will fiddle with the engine and compromise on performance to increase the FE...and performance is just barely ok as it is!

My other cars (if it's relevant) : Landcruiser ute (4X4 ) : 5 kmpl, Toyota RAV4 (petrol- 4X4) 8 KMPL and Toyota Corolla (petrol) 12 KMPL.

@ranjit, considering the FE of your other cars (foreign makes), I guess the Safari's FE actually looks pretty good.

I bought an Esteem few months back. It has done only 2000 KM. I am getting 12.5 mostly in city traffic for short trip (~15 KM) w/o aircon. Is it too bad guys?

That sounds fine. What is your normal route ?
I know of another person who travels from Behala to Sector V in an esteem. He too gets aroun 12/13 regularly.

OT: Were we in touch before you bought your esteem ? Are we in the same org ? Anyways, please lookup the Kolkata meet thread. We already had a get together. Do join us for the next one.

My 2 months old AVEO 1.4LS getting me 12 km/litre in city driving conditions with 70% AC usage. how does it seem to you. I think its quite good.

No service has been done yet. due on 5000kms. its a relatively new car so I dont rev the engine beyond 2500rpm/60km.

Any AVEO users getting more thn 12kms/litre???

Viva CRDI Average

My less than 2 month old Viva CRDI returns about 14KM-15KM in the city with AC on about 25% . I think this average is not that great, guys do you think it will improve after i clock some more mileage ( currently, its run 2K only). My first service is just over and i havent finished my tankful yet

One highway trip of 500 KM before 1000KM on the odo, it gave me about 16KM

My 1.5 year old Pulsar 150 DTS-i gives me regularly 50+ despite high revving it most of the times

My month-old 2006 Fiat Palio 1.2 NV ELX has consistently given me 12.5kmpl during the last two full-tank to full-tank measurements.
Haven't really calculated the highway mileage yet .. Will post again when I do find out.

Santro '98 model 86500 km on odo,165/70/13 bridgestone- 12.5 in medium to high city traffic without a/c '11 to 11.5 with a/c always driving fast but very smooth.
Highway - 18 to 20 without a/c at speed mostly around 100-130
16.5 with a/c speed 90-110
Baleno Altura '03 model 37500 kms stock tyres - 8 to 8.5 without a/c in city driving very smoothly always below 2000 rpm
12.5 on highway with a/c, again very careful driving and good highway never beyond 3000 rpm speed around 120

I think its too early to start looking at FE for you. You should wait until you do at least 5K to measure real FE.

oh i have an old workhorse - cd100ss('93) , it gives me a good 65kmpl.
also my dad has a sumo,(office vehicle) gives 10 to 12 kmpl with 25% times running on AC.
