My Elite i20 diesel returns an average of close to 15 in the city and on the highways it goes up to 20.Have been always driving with the AC on, and set at 23 degrees.
I have tried changing my driving style in the city but the FE has hardly improved, its always stuck up between 14.8-15.2 kmpl. On the highways its a different story though, however fast you go the FE is close to 20.My car has done close to 5000kms now ,anything wrong with the figures?.Fellow i20 owners pls feel free to jump in .

My other car is a Fiat Palio S10 and a good fun drive around the city yeilds me 9-10kmpl. Totally worth it for the fun you get from it.

The figures appear decent and on par with others in official review thread. If she has been delivering constant figures then you have developed a nice chemistry with her.
How's the traffic density and average speed in city?

These are figures I get from the day of purchase, in the city however u drive the FE remains the same. The average speed hovers around 20-25 in the city. Traffic density depends to be honest, I've been stuck at a jam two three times and those are times it took me almost an hour to cover 3kms. Even with the jams, without jams or whatever FE is almost the same!. Not that I am dissatisfied with the FE, its when I see figures of 18,20 in city figures that some of you quote that makes me sad .

On a funny note, my cars Fuel meter goes down very slowly till it reaches the half way mark and then it goes down as if it's running a Marathon. Till the half way mark It goes 400+ kms and after the half way mark to the low fuel warning it goes 200+kms :banghead: .

Car- 2007 Toyota Corolla 1.8 J

ODO- 52,xxx kms

City FE- 12-14kmpl depending upon the traffic

Highway FE- 15-17kmpl depending upon my mood

All the above mentioned figures are with the AC on at all the times. For a 1.8L NA engine, I find these figures pretty good.

Hi Asit,

I drive Corolla 1.8E H5, a 2006 model. I have checked in the last two months on a full tank basis and I am getting a FE of max 12 in the city with AC on for over 75% times. And I get 15 on the highway.

I assume yours is petrol engine too. Can you think of any reason why I may be getting low FE.

Most of the times I drive normally, I mean not too rash and quite aggressive in the highways. Mine has just crossed 51k.

Thanks for your inputs.

Honda Jazz(P) 2015

Odo -3110
Highway/City% - 50/50
Tankful method -13.5kmpl
MID - 13.9kmpl

MID seems to be fairly reliable in Jazz.

Highway roundtrip of 300km from Pune-Mumbai gave 16.6 kmpl on MID. Highest that I got yet.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Hello..

Tried to search for the efficiency figures for GenX Nano AMT, but couldn't find it.
If any GenX Nano AMT owner is reading this thread, please post what efficiency you are getting.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

My Elite i20 Asta 1.2 P completed 7K kms so far. My mileage is between 11-12 always. I was getting under 11 till 5000 kms, now it's getting improved. All these figures are in CITY traffic with 100% AC.

My 2nd service still due, I'm planning to give it for next week. I believe it may get improved 1 or 2. Existing Elite i20 1.2 owners, Please comment.

Hello,

Yes mine is a petrol engine. And you are getting pretty decent figures. Pls note most of my intercity drives are in the early morning or at night when the traffic comes down. That is when I achieve 13-14kmpl with AC on. Rest during the usual start-stop traffic I get around 12-12.5kmpl.

Out on the highways, when I cruise at 2-2.2K rpm I have achieved 17kmpl. With anything higher it drops to the 15-16kmpl range. Sometimes I feel Toyota should have had offered a 6th gear. It would really help in enhancing the fuel economy.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Nissan Micra Dci - shoes upgraded to 195/60 R15 Michellin

City - Bangalore - 13- 14 kmpl
Kochi - 10-12 kmpl

Highway - 15-16 kmpl with full boot fully loaded and rear occupants and with a heavy foot cruising north of 120kmph

20-23 kmpl ! with a light root foot say while cruising around 70-100 kmph

Honda Brio SMT - Shoes upgraded to 195/55 R14 Falken

City - Bangalore - 9-10 kmpl
Kochi - 8-10 kmpl

Highway 14-15 kmpl , always driven with a heavy foot!

Nissan Sunny Dci

Highway - 16-18 kmpl when driven with a heavy right foot, didn't find the need for a sedate drive mode when Sunny returns such good figures even with fulyl loaded boot and occupants doing north of 120kmph.

Jetta 2.0 Tdi MT

Highway - whatever you do, how ever you drive, even if you try and give the BMWs and Mercs a tough time in the Highways it returns a steady figure of 15-16 kmpl

Renault Lodgy 110

Highway - 15-16 kmpl if driven sedately around 70-100 kmph
13-14 kmpl when you send dust to all those Innovas windscreen.

Hyundai Creta 1.6 MT

Highway - 12-14 kmpl

Note- Driven only with A/C always and occasional stops where if we remain inside the car, engine will be running with A/C on always.

Re: What is your Actual Fuel Efficiency?

Car: Punto Evo 1.3 Emotion clocked 7.5 k.

I steadily get 15 kmpl in the city with Ac on 70% of the times. I don't use AC in the night.

This time, though, it returned 17. Pretty impressive. Mileage improved drastically from initial days when it used to return 14/13 in the city.

On the highway, if I cruise constantly at 120, it returns a healthy 19 or 19.5.

Regards,
Ryuu.

Got the best ever figure on the last tankful (100% city, no AC). Thanks to the sedate driving, addon-d, no AC. Not really sure if I can sustain it for a longer time.
