Very true....My VTEC gets me the similar figures as Shan2nu but i guess i get a little more in city drive. Some times I've even noticed 14km/L in the city. Mines a stock though i guess thats why. I guess the difference in a VTEC and and 1.5 or a 1.3 would not just be the performance but the efficiency of the engine. Apparently since my O2 sensor has been conked on my ride i've noticed 2-3 km/L drop in mileage though :(

Fiat Uno 1.7D,2000 model,0.86k : 21.5 in highway(70-90kmph), 16-18 in traffic.

My Hanuman 'atshe' (800) gives abt 15 to 17kmpl. 70% city driving.
And abt 14 kmpl on highway when I use the 'cruise control'.

Cruise control means pulling the choke after putting it in the 4th gear.
Haa haa.

Cruises at abt 60kmph on a flat road.

TUNING for better mileage with SANTRO LE ..

i have a 2000 santro LE which has done about 43000 when i bought . i have changed the entire engine oil to CASTROL , the oil filter & air filter . spark plug firing is good so mechanic cleaned it.done the wheel balance & alignment . it is doing about 10 km /litre in city with almost proper driving method .( air 30 PSI almost single while driving ) The guy who sold me says it should do 12-13 with AC most of the time. what else should i do to enhance the mileage . i want to SET thing for petrol so that i can think of moving to LPG. pl let me have your feedback. thanks.

I had a santro for about 4 years and it notorious for losing FE when it ages. So i guess there is nothing much apart from what you have already done to improve it beyond 10kmpl. Just ensure that you drive with a light foot and ensure petrol filling from a reputed bunk.
