One time got 36 kmpl while descending from Ooty to Metupalayam. Of course no coasting. Only used second gear throughout the downhill with less than 5% of brake usage.

No no. I got your ask. Didn't have any records for uphill driving. However it was around 18-20kmpl i believe.

This is accurate. I have similar mileage in Bangalore. MID shows 14.9, tank to tank is around 12.2.. Mine is a 2018 Celerio AMT

Honda’s idtec has always proven to be excellent when it comes to mileage. Keeping aside the NVH levels. My WRV VX MT Diesel gives around 18kmpl in city and 24kmpl on highways. You can further extract higher numbers above the ARAI figures based on the road conditions, driving speed (maintain 85kmph with cruise ON). Below is one such drive from close to Kanyakumari to Trichi whree I could achieve 27.1kmpl! While completing my trip to Chennai, I ended up with 25.6kmpl which again is above ARAI figures for the BSIV engine.

The Brio completed 10 years last month and has touched 60,000 kms on the odo. The car delivers a consistent 14-15 kmpl in the city with the a/c on. With heavier traffic and the a/c on this drops to about 14-15 kmpl. Without the a/c this creeps up marginally to about 16-17 kmpl. I haven't driven the car on the highway for many years so with an upcoming trip, I plan to keep an eye on the mileage for the highway.
