Today, for my commute, (in Ikon) I didn't use the A/C because I wanted to check the mileage without a/c. I went through the normal route I take, the normal driving way.

ScanGauge reported fuel consumption of 7.6 L/100Km at the end of the day. Calculates to 13.1 Km/Liter. Pretty Impressive again for an Ikon 1.6.

Normally with A/C I get figures of 11.1 to 11.7 L/100Km, Calculating to 8-9 Km/Liter.

My Safari gives me 10-11 kmpl in city (mostly HP speed, 25% AC) & Highway it gives 12-13.5 kmpl (mix of normal, premium & relience diesel, mostly AC on). Highest I got 13.96 Kmpl. In highway mostly I try to stick in between 100-120 kmph, very rarely drive beyond 140kmph.

Indica xeta gives 11-13 KMpl in city(almost without AC) & in highway it gives 14-16kmpl.

On highway I got around 14 km with SX4.

dear BHPians, my new civic has given overall mileage of 12.5 kmpl in first 700 km.70% city and 30% highway driving with AC on 80% of the times. Do you guys think, it is OK or would change after first service at 1000 km ?

Spark LT @ 1750 kms (approx)

City 90% AC - 12 km/l minimum to 14 kmpl

Highway 90% AC @ 80 kmph to 120 kmph 80% - 15 kmpl to 16 Kmpl

BUSA it depends upon driving conditions and driver too... My frnd is getting 16 from his CARB M800 and 14 with AC from Swift in Chandigarh and hes a very light footed driver. Car has done 10k+ and till now he has done no highway trip and have not crossed 80 kmph. Though he lives in MOHALI its near Chandigarh and traffic and road condition are same as Chandigarh.

Thas a very good figure for a car of that size, yes it will improve slightly after first service but then you would be revving it more wont ya?

ofcourse BUSA,so far restricting it to 3000 rpm/50-60 kmph in city and max 90 kmph on highways ,waiting for EXPLORING my civic and getting the feel of the EXHILIRATION,and i know FE may come down if i REVV like that, but then it would surely give me that KICK TOO !!! which i deserve !!

At 3K rpm civic is only at 60kmph?? Btw, the FE you got is pretty good and i doubt if it will increase as after you complete the run-in you will certainly rip her.

My 7.5 years old zen and a year old Baleno both roughly give me 12kmpl in the city with AC on.
