Mileage of Maruti Zen

Hi,

My daughter's Maruti Zen ,2005 gives a pathetic 9.5kmpl on city runs with AC on always, very short distance runs 3 to 4 km at a time.Long distance the same one gives 16 kmpl .

It also has an LPG option, the injector kind ,it gives between 7.5 and 8 kmpl, long distance never crossed 11kmpl.

keep her revving around 2000-2200rmp mark and she would never ask you to visit your bunk...at that mark in 5th gear you reach around 90km/hr n that is good for delhi roads..

hard on the gas pedal n it drops down to 15+..still love her!!!

I have driven from bangalore to palakkad many a time and only two people in, i managed to get closed to 17-18 kmpl on my Elantra 2.0 CRDi with the AC on all the time

When I drove from Bangalore to Baroda 1490 kms, I managed 15.5 kmpl with AC. I had five adults in the car, a dog and close to 100 kgs luggage.

I have only the stock Green Cotton Filters as add on.

Isn't it great. All I spent was close to 7.5 K on fuel up and down with some here and there in Mumbai and Baroda City.

My Indica XETA gives as below:

City driving (90% AC) -> 12.5kmpl
Highway driving(100% AC) -> 15.5kmpl
Highway driving(100% AC) -> 14.0kmpl This is in the case where I rip always and maintaining 100 kmph and touching across 150kmph at max times.
