Toyota, in a bid to ramp up production, has commenced three-shift operations at its manufacturing facility at Bidadi from May 2023.

According to Toyota, the three-shift operations would help boost the plant's production output by over 30%. The company claims that with the ramping up of production, it would also be generating additional employment of close to 25%.

Toyota will also be increasing the intake of skilled technicians from the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI). Last year, Toyota increased the intake capacity of the institute to 1,200 students. The company currently has a 6,000-member team, including production and non-production staff.

Toyota currently has an order backlog for some of its models. The waiting period for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is said to be around 7-20 months depending on the variant, while the waiting period for the Innova Hycross is said to be around 6 months.

Re: Toyota ramps-up production; starts 3rd shift at Bidadi plant

Still the waiting list for Innova shall remain Unchanged!!

Sarcasm aside, I think this additional capacity will be geared towards exports and Grand Vitara, because there is a shortage of these specific models and i see Nexa not pushing very hard towards GV full hybrid and it could be partially because of Supply constraints.

With additional supply of full hybrid cars, could we assume a slight relaxation in full hybrid cars or in subsequent models, which would be launched in near future?
