Fiat India website says 100PS which certainly is not 100bhp IMO. Or is this figures for only the Stile?

100bhp -> 100 PS could be a change that has happened from the GTX to the 1.6 Sport.

Skoda VRs - Nice car. Nice speed. Not nice price. No buy.
Vtec - ditto
Baleno - Would have been awesome, but got put off for some reason - never liked it stock after I drove the Petra. Still have a soft corner for it though.
GTX - Will buy. Love the feel of it gripping the road. And that engine growl is to die for.

P.S. I love cars stock except the wheels, the interiors and the ICE. So modifiability is never in my radar.

Voted for the Skoda Octavia RS.
One thing's for sure, the others listed here have great potential for modifications, but, are terrifying at high speeds. The Octy is the surdiest and safest. I would feel much safer in it at high speeds.

Of the 4 cars you've mentioned, I think (with my limited knowledge) only the Skoda can be purchased as a brand new car.
All the others would be pre owned. Am I correct?

i choose the octavia rs because the engine is capable of much more power and the car has a very sold base for later modification

Octavia rules

IMHO Octavia looks great, handles well, has extremely good acceleration. Only negative point is the high price. I think out of all these I will still ignore the price and go with Skoda

Rahul,

Trust you to put up nice threads. I'd go in for the RS; there's something mean and purposeful abt that machine that appeals to me.

my vote goes to the RS. although if i vote practically, it has to be the OHC VTEC. i like the fiat palio 1.6 GTX as well. i never really liked the looks of the baleno.

i had a OHC 1.3 Exi which i sold off and bought a 2003 VTEC just last month. I always wanted the VTEC. I had heard a lot about the car. So when my parents decided to buy a new car ( ford fiesta or SX4 ) i started throwing tantrums for the VTEC. Finally i convinced my parents about buying the VTEC. i searched for over 2 months for a VTEC and finally got one last month. it is a 2003 silver VTEC. i just love the color. it had done 59,000 km, all services done by Honda. the best part was that it had brand new 15" alloys and 205/50 kumho ecsta tyres. it was bought for 5.5 laks. it's a well maintaned car and i'll post the pictures soon. when i get a job, i will add stanley's art leather like hydrashock's palio (not that color though), components for the front, amp, sub, and at last good quality skirts.

and recently i changed the name of my car. now it's called, M5.

But there is a lot of difference in driving an esteem & a swift. Laurel & Hardy comes to mind. No offence to any swift owners. I love the swift too.

Rahul, I want your Baleno. Is it up for sale?

I've made a decision in my mind last year. I'm only buying a used (Pre 2003 model preferrably).
So, there goes my vote.

I see Swift missing in the poll!
