Re: What is your car's tank range?

Toyota Etios Diesel
45l fuel tank

Theoretical range - 1060+ kms

Our mixed usage - ~760kms

Don't have exclusively city mileage, since we live in the suburbs and don't commute to the city. Also no highway mileage figures as the few times we do proper highway trips (read outside Kerala), the engine rpm doesn't stay below 2500rpm.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

2017 Hyundai Creta 1.6 Petrol Manual

Fuel tank capacity :- 55 ltr (including 5 ltr reserve)

Range in City :- 450 - 550 kms depending on traffic.

Range on highways :- 600 - 700 kms

The highway range is for the highways in Kerala. The maximum range I have got on a full tank before the reserve light came on was 720 kms. I always fill only till auto cut off.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car & Engine: Swift VXi (1.3L petrol) with upsized ZXi tyres
Fuel tank size: 43L
City tank range: 400 to 430 km (mileage of 9.5 to 11 kmpl), but I usually fill up at 275 - 300 km.
Highway tank range: 600 km (speeds of 90 - 120 kmph) at an average of 14.5 kmpl.
Highway tank range: 750 km (speeds of 60 - 90 kmph) at an average of 17.5 kmpl.

The best mileage i have got is 24.5 kmpl between Pune and Kognolli with speeds of about 60 - 80kmph in an early morning drive a couple of months back. Have got 21, 22 etc. several times earlier. I fill up at around 300 - 400 km (based on the fuel stations I trust on my highway drives). If the overall highway drive is ~500 km (Pune -> Destination -> Pune), I prefer to fill from Pune and come back to Pune before filling again.

========================

Car & Engine: Toyota Innova Crysta Z Diesel AT (2.4L)
Fuel tank size: 55L
City tank range: 500 to 600 km (mileage of 10 to 12 kmpl), but I usually fill up at 350 - 400 km.
Highway tank range: 630 km (speeds of 100 or higher kmph) at an average of 11.5 kmpl.
Highway tank range: 770 to 880 km (speeds of 80 - 100 kmph) at an average of 14 to 16 kmpl.

The best highway mileage I have got so far is 18.24 between Pune and Kognolli. One can get above 15 kmpl with sedate driving of 60 - 90 kmph and by using cruise control when possible. I fill up at around 300 - 400 km (based on the fuel stations I trust on my highway drives).

All measurements are full tank to full tank method using the auto cut-off method. I have noticed that the auto cut-off does not work uniformly across pumps. For example at the BP COCO pump at Kognolli after auto cut-off, the fuel needle will always be a little below the F mark. The same at some of the other petrol pumps would be a little above the F mark.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Mahindra XUV5OO

Fuel tank capacity - 70 ltrs (officially)
Real fuel tank capacity - almost 80 Ltrs. (I had once filled up 79.xx Ltrs in a bone-dry tank)

Range - 800 kms easily.
900-940 kms with some highway driving thrown in.
1000 kms with pure highway driving and a light foot. (Have hardly ever got this ).

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Honda Amaze Petrol 2014

Recent mod - Tyre upsized to 185/65 R14.
Fuel tank capacity - 35 Liters
Highway range - 630 - 650kms. I refuel when level drops to quarter tank
City range ~ 420 - 470 kms. This one has huge variation. I've never seen a consistency in city fuel consumption. A lot depends on traffic conditions.

In the Honda City diesel, the 40 Litre tank has very long range.

Within city limits: Range is between 700 to 760KM I fill up around the 500 KM mark.

On highways: Range is about 850 KM average, fill around the 550 km mark.

The above observations are consistent over a 9 year period.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Mahindra Thar 2020 D-AT:

Fuel tank - 57 litres
I generally refill once the warning light comes on and the car has about 70 km left and it takes in about 50 litres of fuel then.
City range - 400-450km, before having to refuel as the car gives 8-9 kpl in my commute route due to fairly heavy traffic.
Highway range (driving at 110 -115 kph most of the time) - 550km before having to refuel as it gives about 11 kpl at these speeds.

BMW M340i XDrive LCI:

Tank size - 59 liters.
Also takes about 50 litres each time I refuel after seeing the low fuel warning first.
City range - About 350-400 km before refueling, as the efficiency is about 7-8 kpl in moderate traffic (which is more free flowing than my commute route
Highway Range (At about 120 kph speeds) - About 450 km before refueling, as the efficiency is around 9 kpl at these speeds in Comfort mode. Can eek out 9.7 kpl or so in Ecosport mode at similar speeds but driving is less fun then.
Surprisingly going slower (say 105 or 110 kph) does not seem to improve FE and the car is better off being driven a bit harder.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

4th Gen City CVT

Capacity- 40L

City Range- 400-450Kms

Highway Range- N/A

Note: I really should really drive her on the highway. For data collection you know?

Octavia 1.8 TSI

Capacity- 50L

City Range- 300-400Kms

Highway Range- 600-750Kms

Note: Never drive in the city. You’ll end up living at the petrol station.

GLE250d

Capacity- 95L

City Range- 650-850Kms

Highway Range- 1000-1100Kms

Note: Gentle giant does a round trip to Ahmedabad on a tank

PS-

Surprise- Lexus ES300H easily does ~800kms from its 50L tank in the city.

Shock- Jeep Meridian can only manage ~600kms from it’s 60L tank even on the highway.

Are you sure ?

I have a 2016 swift Vxi petrol and I get

City - 500 to 600 kms (how aggressive can one drive in city ?)

Highway - 700 + kms.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car & Engine: MSIL Scross zeta AT (1.5L Petrol)
Fuel tank size: 45 L
City tank range: Approximately 520 - 550 km. FE 13-14
Highway tank range: 550 - 660 km. FE-14- 15. 5
The range here is from full tank to reserve light.
I usually fill up at reserve light when in city. Also I do not know which fuel stations are CoCo so I guess I use any.
I use Fuelio app to track my efficiency ( not that it gives you any advantages just some Data for the geek in me)

My worst Fe came in Spiti at 8.8 kmpl.

Cheers!

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Kia Carens Diesel 1.5 MT 2022 model. Filled up to Full tank at Jhansi just after crossing the Toll booth towards Mumbai at around 4.30 AM in morning and drove sedately Never crossed the 120 mark. Reached Nashik at around .00 pm and the range was still showing around 65 kms. Had to detour to Devlali and Ambad Link road so filled the tank at Nashik Ambad Link road. It took almost 41 litres
