Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car: Ecosport Diesel (2019)

Tank Capacity: 52 ltrs
City Range: 900 - 950 kms (I haven't tested this range. I usually fill up at half tank. This calculation is through mileage - around 18 - 19 kmpl)
Highway Range: 1100 - 1200 (I have driven >1000 km without filling up once. I get approx. 23 kmpl. Based on that, I could theoretically go up to 1200 km).

Based on the mileage, you can guess that I'm a sedate driver. So, I get very good mileage.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Ford Escort 1.8 LX – 45 Liters (59 bhp) NA Diesel
City Range – 450 km
Highways – 600 to 650 km

Fiat Punto 1.3 MJD Emotion – 45 Liters (75 bhp) FGT Turbo Diesel
City range – 500 km
Highways – 700 to 750 km

Ford EcoSport 1.5 Titanium – 52 Liters (100 bhp) FGT Turbo Diesel
City Range – 550 km
Highways – 750 to 800 km

Escort is NA diesel and loves open roads, the only issue is with it poor suspension setup. The car has covered 2.5 Lakh km and no overhaul has been carried out so far, she came home in 1997

Punto on the other hand has a relatively poor top end but a strong mid-range, she loves to be driven at about 90 - 100 kmph and offers driving pleasure which is unmatched

EcoSport is a mile munching machine, I have done multiple 10+ hours’ drive (almost non-stop) with her. Somehow, I have always got better fuel efficiency from EcoSport in spite of it being 1500 cc against the 1248 cc engine of Punto.

The range is not the true range here as I have always refuled our family members just before the reserve / red mark, never took a chance to touch the reserve mark. Also all of them are in stock condition, no performance remaps done.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car: Ford Fiesta 1.4 Exi TDCi (2010)

Tank Capacity: 45 ltrs.
City range: 820 - 850 KMs (~19 kmpl)
Highway Range - 1100 - 1150 KMs (~23kmpl)

I live in Bangalore and my commute to work takes me through some of the most traffic dense areas in the city (Sarjapur Road to Indiranagar via Koramangla for additional context for folks In Bangalore). City mileage is pretty good because I tend to time my departure in both directions to be little early for the traffic. I have a gem of a car to accompany me and will be really sad to let it go in another 2 years

Re: What is your car's tank range?

2023 Kia Forte
Engine Capacity- 2 Litres, 147 BHP.
Fuel Tank Capacity- 53 Litres.
Tank Range- 650 KMS.
It’s a brand new car. Just 1600 kms on it as of now. Yet to test highway or city economy individually. 650 kms range is mix of both highway and city conditions.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Car & Engine: Force Gurkha FM 2.6 CR Diesel
Fuel tank size: 63L
City tank range: Haven't calculated since i seldom use the Gurkha for city runs
Highway tank range: 550-600 km, 630-690km if i go easy on the throttle. I feel anything above 10kmpl for 2.5 ton SUV is a bonus.

I normally have a habit of filling up once the bar on the gauge drops one or two notches below the half mark, till auto cut OFF.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Just 2 days and the thread is already on the 6th page - sure is an interesting thread and a good way to look at fuel consumption.

Here is my experience with the 2 cars that I have owned so far

Car & Engine: Hyundai Grand i10 Petrol MT (1.2L Petrol)
Fuel tank size: 43L
City tank range: 500km.
Highway tank range: 550 - 600km.

Car & Engine: MG Hector Petrol CVT (1.5L Turbo Petrol)
Fuel tank size: 60L
City tank range: 450km.
Highway tank range: 550km.

I have a habit of filling up fuel when the needle gets near the reserve mark (50-70KM before it goes in the reserve). The i10 used to suck up ~35L while the Hector takes 42-45L when doing the tank full.

Re: What is your car's tank range?

Octavia 2.0 TSI petrol
50L tank capacity
City driving range: (I really don't have city usage in this)
Highway driving range: Regularly 'see' 700(+) during tank up

I have done Bangalore Chennai round trip on a single tankful (warning lamp had come on though). Otherwise I tank up at around the 600 km mark, which in most cases coincide with a day's worth of driving
