Its good that Toyota soon brings Premium hatchback but If priced less it will sell in India or Indian public should understand the concept of Premium Hatch.

Premuim hatch back is supposed to be Sedan without boot. Palio, Getz, UVA are best available premium Hatchback. But with Swift's (its not premium hatch it is normal hatchback car) launch Maruti confused Indian public and dented other good practical Premium hatchback. I hope soon people will realize about Premium Hatchback and give value to Getz, Pailo, UVA, SRV (Bit overpriced) and coming soon other Premium Hatches (Toyota, Honda etc.)

Regards,

Ravi.

Righto. The Auris replaces the european Corolla. Entry into India as a hatch - highly unlikely. Toyota and Honda tend to differentiate their Asian and Euro offerings. The Yaris hatch and sedan would be a better fit in my opinion.

IMO whatever they do,they better do it fast. i think toyota is taking indian market for granted not showing any enthusiasum in our country.they have so many cars compatible for our market.they have not yet exploited the B+,c and the d segmant suv market.GM is all heated up to take on toyota ,so toyota better watch out.

Well...according to me a car (whether Hatchback or not) should be called premium if it offers premium engine and premium interiors and premium comfort.

Unfortunately what we are offerred in India is mediocre engine + mediocre interior + mediocre comfort at premium price.

getz and Swift are being honored beyond what they deserve...

its a nice car, but doesnt look as good as the upcoming fiat grande punto or skoda fabia. cant say much about the performance though. its a very average looking car. both toyota and honda, i dont think are anywhere near to fiat or skoda in terms of looks and interiors.

Something tells me that what we will get is a badge engineered Daihatsu Sirion, rather than the Yaris.
