Definitely it’s going to be sure shot success as this is going to sit between Hycross and Velfire.

I feel this eats a lot from Velfire sales as this looks more value for money than Velfire.

I sincerely hope they bring Hi Limousine 4 seater variant as an option at least.

Wouldn't the Malaysia price also include some taxes though? We can't compare prices across regions like that unless there's a full breakup - it's only the case car cost that should be considered and then the taxes here added on top.

I had made up my mind to book this the moment they'd discontinued the previous version.

Spoke to a Kia Dealer in Hyderabad. Some takeaways which could help others.

• Deliveries to begin Late October or Early Novemeber.
• Black or White are the only color options.
• Price reveal closer to or after launch (they've no official communication).
• Ex-Showroom price expected to be 65L.

I am hesitant to continue at this price.
Half price of a Vellfire but double a Hycross.

While 50L may seem alot.. you definitely can’t get anything more comfortable than this (picture inserted below) for 50L. Not everyone wants a 7 seater for it’s off-roading ability and some would rather just have something thats as comfortable (or even more) than their home sofa except on 4 wheels. This is also as close to a business class experience on wheels that one can get for the price. Just imagine how much more comfy it will get if you remove the last row of seats!

People may think the price is not justified cause its more like an expensive Innova (which again is not a direct comparison), but I look at it more as a cheaper Mercedes Benz V-Class and I feel the price is actually alright for a CBU!

While it may not sell in numbers, but the few takers who do buy it and manage to look over the Kia badge, they will definitely not be left wanting any more!

Bookings for the new Carnival will officially begin on Sep 16.

Prices will be announced on Oct 3 and it will be sold as a full import initially.

The second row looks supremely comfortable. Kia should definitely assemble it locally. It has potential to do good numbers. Infact there is nothing like it upto Vellfire.

The CBU is a good buy, going off the price of 65L ex-showroom. The Carnival has already etched out a posh image for itself, IMO. This is taking it to the next level in looks and comfort. I hope the ride will also be superb. The car is well placed between the the Hycross and Veilfire.

Wish this segment of cars were all over cheaper though. For many Hycross is a stretch, Those who comfortably purchased a Hycross will stretch for a Carnival, but this stretch will be much more expensive. I hope this will spice the +30L segment of MPVs up and bring about more competition. Toyota definitely needs to improve it's interior quality game on the Hycross.

Having sat in the pre-facelift Carnival backseat (bench seat always) many times through Uber, I can positively say that I find the underthigh support lacking and I'm only 5'6. However, I find most SUV's to be lacking any kind of decent underthigh support, so there's that.

Not having Brown interior in Limousine variant forced us to choose Limousine plus.

Not a fan of Navy blue and misty grey interior options.

Booked black colour.

Hopefully the price will be on attractive side. Else we should go for cancellation.

What kind of feature list is this? You don't get rain sensing wipers in the base variant which is expected to cost over 50L on-road?

What is KIA sales team thinking here?

My base variant Laura from 2010 has the same and they still work flawlessly.

I think its worth 65L OTR! Even the prev gen carnival had nothing that could replace it without spending more than 1cr. I've done quite a bit of driving and taxying on the pre gen model in India and easily one of the best vehicles around!
