Car model & year; 5 Speed Maruti 800, 2002
City; Blr Kms done - 83000; usage (what % in city & long 72:28); How many services done -- many; maintenance cost (total till now or per year) - N/A; Any major issues in terms of replacement of parts, -- Strongly suspect Authosized service centres for overcharging, but decided to stick with them.

My 82000, car paid service with all the standard replacements recommended at 80,000kms done,
cost me Approx. 3200/-

Please tell me if i should be concerned about these charges:
This was a long pending item, which got fixed, I was told long before that its a highly labourous process for changing the hand brake cable.
Parts: Parking Cable Rs. 218.88+
Labour: Parking Brake asy Rs.398+ -- Holy cow, they had charged Rs.280 for labour for axle boot replacement, is it that tough job ?

This is the detailed 82000 kms service on my 5 Speed 800, all mandatory replacemnets done, except for Coolant replace (will this effect ?) I somehow insistent on not doing it. Am not sure why I did that.
Parts:
Engine Oil 3L - 474.66
Brake Fuild 250ML - 137.78
Gear Box oil - 2L 364.44
Front disc brake Pad - 4 nos 283.72
OIL Filter MPFi - 66.09
Fuel Filter comp ( changed every 40k) - 154.19
Spark Plug - 3 nos - 159.99

Labour:
Brake Bleeding - 170
Front disc brake R&R - 142
Paid service 575
Wheel balancing - 200
front Disk brake R&R - 142
Parking brake - 298

Plus taxes as applicable. Car feels really good now. I guess am all set till 1,00,000kms now since next due oil change after 10k kms, and others at 97k.

Hope it helps.

All I can say is I keep mota hisaab,

When I had the Ford the expenses were high and once the rats eat off the wiring and I hate patched wires so wanted to replace it and found out from the market that the cost of new wiring harness was around 35 K for ford Ikon. Hated this and sold the car off.

Bought a zen Carb 2000 model very happy with the car it perf and the FE once had some problem with the alternator I simple got it replaced, had some problem with the Carb got a new one as the spares are cheap and after that just regular washing, and changing oil a max of 600 rs monthly. Replacements were done purely for a tension free ride intentions...

2004 Esteem/ Service every 5K kms / run 50000 kms to date . Long Drives - almost every alternate weekend ( on photography trips )

No major parts replaced ( touchwood )

Service costs for 5000 kms would work to around 1500 -2000 and for every 10K, would be around 2500. I service the car based on the km reading and not time based.

Fiat Palio 1.9 D (2004-2007)
Main issues faced so far:
- Left V con replacement at around 3K kms. Simply due to a silly nylon thread and a stupid of a Fiat service person who couldn't just hoist it and check in time.
- 2 Tyre bursts. Generally default goodyear tyres bubbled a lot.
- Fuel injector troubles at around 46K Kms.

Service costs around 3-3.5K and interval at 7.5K Kms.

I no longer own this car but definitely loved it for all other good reasons!

Santro Xing XG August 2004
* Petrol
* Chennai
* 20000 kms done
* Most of them driven in City (800 km per month for the last 1 year)
* 3 Free Service. I don't know the exact amount, was around 1000

Took extended warranty for the third year.
Total spare parts changed apart from accessories & insurance claim
1. Brake pads
2. Windscreen wiper blade
3. Water pump tube leak
4. Central locking switch ( twice but covered under warranty)
5. Door sensor (Covered under warranty)
6. Wheel bearing changed due to rain water entered into it( Costed 9000, but covered under warranty)

Regular service would cost 1000 - 1500.

Totally it should be less than 5000 for 3 years excluding regular service.

2002 Volkswagen GTI VR6
All expenditures are in USD.

Regular Expenditure -:
Oil Change - 12$ do it myself.
Oil Filter - 4$ --""--

Recent Expenditures -:
Coil Pack -400$
MAF Sensor -300$
Cheap DURALAST plug wireset - 100$ (OH WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS, these're JUST WIRES)
Spark Plugs (Silly Overrated Platinum 4-point Denso Plugs ) Quantity 6 Total 77$ with tax. Replaced these for stock plugs Total 12$ because VR6' are over sensitive to those 4 point plugs.

Coming up -:
Cheap All weather Tires -> Kumho Exta something something.... 400$ = tires + installation + balancing + alignment etc etc
This car has left me no choice but to drive it BUTT-NAKED. I gave my wallet, my pocket as well as my trousers and rest of the clothes while paying for all these.
By the way these are true expenditures. You can confirm with any VW owner on our forum !
