Opel Corsa

5 year old Corsa - 60K service (supposedly a major service - and definitely the most expensive one so far)

Timing Belt + tensioner - 1300 + 4100
Coolant - 850
Ventilation filter - 400
Bushing stabilizer Sleeve - 288

Other small parts & consumables (air filter/fuel fliter/bulbs/Brake Fluid etc ) bought total parts cost to 9.1K

Labor was another 2K
Taxes etc bought the total to 12.5K :(

Unfortunately 2 days after the service, my rear bearings have started making a lot of noise
Not sure if the service had anything to do with it...

My neigborhood service guy has given me a quote of 2.7 K to replace the rear bearings though so I guess that's where I'll get it done

Maruti Swift

15K 4th (and 1st paid) service
300 for consumables, 200 for labor and 50/- tip

Maruti sure knows how to keep their customers happy

That is unbelievably low, even for a Maruti. I mean, a simple oil change would take the consumable part to between 600-700Rs for mineral oil + few hundreds for the oil filter. So, can't understand just Rs300 for consumables ?

Or was there no oil change done ? If so, what did they charge Rs300 for ?

Also, I remember some Swift owners mentioning in some thread about a costly 15K (or was it 20K) service, costing them 3K-5K. This seems to be the extreme opposite of that.

P.S. : After the 3rd free service at 10K kms, isn't the service interval every 10000kms for Swift ? So why a 15K service ? Should it not be at 20K ? Maybe this was just a check-up and not a full-blown service.

amazing info

Time for yet another amazing info.
clutch works on a five speed m800 which shares it's engine, gearbox etc with the alto/mpfl F8D.

Flywheel (alto) - Rs.686/-
input shaft bearing - Rs.110/-
alto- clutch set - Rs.1765/-
clutch release bearing - Rs.515/-
Labour - Rs.1050/-

All all pre tax rates and the clutch is buttery smooth like on a new swift, plus there is remarked positive change on acceleration. Service advisor says no worries till another 40k kms which is well close to 1,40,000kms.

This is one amazing car.
kms on odo: 95k

You're bang on! Swift is serviced every 10k kms after 3rd service. The workshop did the 4th 'service' but probably only did the cleaning and loose bolts/screws check. I'd suggest abhi182 go back to the dealer at 20k kms and get the 4th service competed in all respects.

Hey guys,

My Alto is due for its 4th Service (1st Paid Service)..
Kms on odo: 18900 kms
Last Service done: 9215 kms

My dealer quoted me 4.5K for the fourth service in which he says includes Engine oil Change, Brake Oil Change, Coolant change, Gear oil Change, Wheel Alignment and Balancing, Injector Cleaning, Washing and Vaccuming, Air Filter Change, Oil Filter Change etc. I guess he also mentioned Engine Flush. Can anyone tell me that what this Engine Flush means and is this really necessary? Is this the right price to pay for the 4th service?

Free as in free labor. You still pay for consumables.

Oh, and a fuel filter change? For the first service? What the heck?!?

Anyway, my Civic:

1st service : 1 month/1000KM

Bill : Zero

2nd service : 3 months/5000KM (done at 3399KM)

Bill : Zero

3rd service : 6 months/10000KM (done at 5913KM)

Bill :

Note that this is a free service. Synthetic engine oil pushed up the bill this much. From here on the services will be paid and I expect the labor charges to be around INR 900/- for minor services. Quite affordable for a 14L car, if I may say so.

Don't know about the price. But you can safely say no to the injector cleaning and the engine flush.

Please check your service booklet as to what all to be changed for the service and stick to that.
