Scorpio Mhawk Vlx 25000 Kms

A short background of the 25000 kms service of my Mhawk. One fine monday morning the A/C of my scorpio didn't work, only hot air was blown out of the vent. As my vehicle was due for its 25000 kms service, i decided to visit VST auto agency, velachery. A fellow T-Bhpian Wolfheart also had this same issue with his Mhawk and I was pleased to know that it was a cooling coil leak and he got it replaced under warranty.
I visited the A.S.S on Thursday morning and the SA seem to be a nice person, very patient listening to my complaints. Didn't have any major complaints except for the A/C issue and my ABS indicator light continuously flashing. The SA checked my A/C and had a readymade answer that there could be an external leakage and they will fill up the gas and arrest if there is any external leakage and will inject a leak dye, which will identify if there is any internal leaks within 2 weeks time. I asked him if he could check for internal leakage directly without introducing a leak dye ( i don't know how it works), he replied that checking for internal leaks would involve removing the dash and they won't do it unless they are sure if there are no external leakage. I didn't argue with him much and asked for an estimate he said some total 6.3 k with 2k for A/c gas filling and setting up the dye. I asked him for the breakup for the remaining 4.3 k that is meant to be for scheduled service, as i felt it was on a higher side as there would be no oil change in this service. He said they will have to do brake servicing for 25 k service and he was quoting Rs.500 for washing and cleaning, which i felt should have been done only on request. He was kind enough to agree that he wont charge that Rs.500 if i dont need washing. I went to collect my vehicle the next day and I was handed over a bill for Rs.5103, find below the details.
Scheduled service:
Halogen Bulb Philips - 142
Motor care (consumable) - 251
25000 Km service Mechanical - 395.63
25000 Km service electrical - 395.63
Consumable charge - 200
Brake shoes - R&R - Two - 791.25
Front brake pad R&R (Both side) - 395.62
Headlight R&R One - 197.81
Motor care (labor) - 120

A/C complaint:
A/C gas - 688
Compressor oil - 140
UV leake dye injection - 251
A/C purging and Charging - 395.62

Total - Rs.5103

Please give your comments on this bill, as I was not sure if brake servicing was required @ 25000 kms. Also in the copy of the bill the SA had, there was mention about a couple of parts which he claimed he changed under warranty, ABS sensor Rs.1700 and wheel sensor Rs.350 (don't remember exact amount). During my previous services my bill would feature the details of parts changed under warranty, but this one didn't, the SA says it won't, I doubt if different A.S.S follow different billing methods.
I was very particular about my A/C and he said they have injected a dye after sealing external leakages and was 90% sure that there wont be any internal leakage, need to wait to find if there are any internal leakage. Hoping to see something before my warranty expires on Aug 30th, so that i am covered if it requires a colling coil change.
Overall the experience was good, the SA was quick to point out they had done a car wash and he hasn't charged for it . Has he found a golden goose in me ?????

Had sent my Honda CR-V for a 6 month servicing to Pinnacle Honda...

Oil Change (Normal) + Filter Change + Servicing + Some minor noise suppression on the car costed me about Rs. 2800

The car was washed very well, and the interiors were not just cleaned but they even applied a protection polish on the dash and doors.... All this is part of the servicing..

Skoda Fabia 1.2 (24,878 Kms, 23 months)

First free service @ 8,900 kms (scheduled 10,000 kms)- cost Rs. 5103/- air, oil filter and engine oil.

Second free service @ 18,900 kms (scheduled 20,000 kms) - cost Rs. 6300/- , air, oil, fuel filter and engine oil.

Next service (paid) scheduled at 34,000 kms.

Others :
1. Protective metal shield for front disc break - Rs. 450/- + lab
2. Front wipers replaced recently - Rs. 1450/-
3. Wiring repair, rat bites - Rs. 120/-
4. Wheel alignment and weight balancing - Rs. 700/-

Total so far ~ Rs. 14,500/-

Most of the money is spent on Engine oil. Skoda charges Rs. 900 a litre for synthetic oil. The recommended interval is 15,000 kms now but I'll stick to the 9-10,000 interval as I drive a lot on higways.

Re: T-BHP real world guide to service costs. How much do you actually spend on your c

VW POLO 1.2 Petrol TRENDLINE (4641km 14 months)

1st service (12 months):
Parts
engine oil (castrol) 3 lts :2586.69
Filter element :96.05
Balancing weight :75
Misc: 200

Labour:
1 yr/15000 km service:175
oil filter replace:140
air filter R/R:35
a/c filter R/R:35
all wheel R/R: 70
wheel alignment:450
wheel balancing:400
Washing + Vacuuming: 250 (charged but car was not washed properly didn't waste time arguing)

Total first service cost including taxes: 5043

Had another refitting required due to rat bite problem in car engine bay. Apparently rats chewed on the wiring causing the engine oil pressure low alarm in instrument cluster being set off, speedometer not working +catalytic converter signal in instrument cluster triggered.

crimping 5 qty :750

labour: wiring fitting :400

Total including taxes :1285

Overall service experience on both occasions was positive (except for car not being washed properly) was skeptical about rat bite issue but service folks laid rest to my doubts by showing pictures they had taken showing the gnawed wires. Also found scraps of food stored by mice in the engine bay to corroborate their claim.

Re: How much did you pay for regular service?

Suzuki Baleno / 50,000kms / Rs 3000

BTW, I am surprised to see the high costs for free services quoted by J.Ravi and yogeshNaik for the Linea & Vista respectively. Usually it should be within 1K max - oil and filter.

I don't think so, considering the facts like Selenia K synthetic engine oil itself costs Rs 1900+ and the oil change/service interval is 15,000 km or one year whichever is earlier. On the contrary, I consider it is very economical to maintain my Linea.

Yes. I saw your thread link and noticed the Synth oil part, but by that time the editing-window was over.
