ACI interview with CEO of Fiat Powertrain revealed that Linea will be launched in June 2008 and Grande Punto a few months later. He mentioned that they don't want change the image of selling cars at cheaper price and also don't want to be volume seller. This gives me a hint that they will not sell Linea and Grande Punto at cheap price as mentioned in the subject of the topic.

No news of the linea or the Grand Punto.

ME too , waiting for launch of GP. Hope Fait launchs them by this year end.

Looks like a good deal if Fiat ever manage to do that. The Grand Punto is an excellent car to drive and equally reliable as well.

i read somewhere linea is going to be launched in sep 2008 and punto in dec 2008.
The fiat site still shows these 2 as future cars

it does show however the 13 lac fiat 500 (dunno if it is already selling??) and the fiat bravo (which would be 13+ lacs i guess !!)

Let them offer decent after sales and trouble free ownership first, key fobs can come later.

All i can tell is that production of the Linea is in full swing.Launch should be pretty soon.Linea looks gorgeous. If they do plan to launch it with the alloys i have seen, its gonna be a stunner for sure.

Happy waiting buddy! There's a theory in rural TN many years before that State Transport Corp Time keepers would take bribes from Pvt operators and let the Pvt ones drive out in the route 1st so they get more passengers.

FIAT's story in India is no different. They have the 1.3 MJD but let Maruti and TATA squeeze the best out of this gem of an engine. And now we'll see the G3HC taking the market my storm (I personally don't like the NHC though). People must be tired waiting for the Linea.

Linea was one of the most expected sedans of 2008, and it's yet to be launched. Grande Punto was supposed to be launched by the year end. All Fiat do is postpone launch dates of their cars.
