Re: My Jeep Compass gets T-Boned | Ordeal with Jeep Service

Wow! This is something unheard of. You are lucky to have a service centre who actually reads posts here. I doubt not many Jeep SCs do that. But good that there is some positivity and optimism in the end. Fingers crossed.

That update is amazing! I hope Landmark Jeep is reading this thread as well.

Long highway rides like the one below, where I've had the chance to maintain triple-digit speeds for extended stretches, bring immense joy to every Compass owner.
Did they also justify the subpar bodywork they have done? What was the remedy for this? It pains to see those shoddy gas welds over the rear quarter panel which is most probably going to rust in a while.

I had a hunch that this was a response to my Team BHP review.

At the designated time and date, I met with their GM. He began by acknowledging that he had read my post on Team-BHP.
Fantastic update.

Someone somewhere at Jeep is keeping track of Team BHP, that's for sure. This is certainly not a one-off. I had recently posted about my experience with Jeep after-sales here:

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offic...ml#post5605503 (Jeep Compass : Official Review)

During my next conversation with the service manager, he referred to my post on Team BHP. And it looks like it is going to get resolved soon, after months of nothing.

These are good signs, and I hope they build on this.

In fact, the meeting went other way around, they didn't justify any of the issues rather they accepted it and were asking what they could so to deliver better. I wasn't sure of what can be done now for the weld issue and I am hoping the paint will keep rust away ( no idea ). From outside it looks pretty clean.

You're a better man than I am. I would have waited for him to give a written statement to the cops before I brought out the dashcam footage after the audacity to blame you after he blindly sped into a main road without checking and then trying to extort you.

I, too, get my Jeep serviced at Pinnacle Kochi. I had a rattling issue with my driver's side door. I had to visit them twice to sort things out.

But they did sort out the issue, finally.

Overall, they are very professional and a recommendable dealer.

On the other hand I had a difficult time with them. With regards to my stereo extended warranty, how the car interior was really dirty when I got the car back and they said it was like that when they got. So yeah, there were good moments (like replacing the window control free of cost after warranty and such) but they aren't perfect.

I always take a short video of my car's exterior and interior and ask for a slip with details before vehicle handover, during service visits.

+1 to that.

He has said only what many among those who have seen and analysed the video, here, deduced.

This comment is not to be taken otherwise, as we all could be in your place.

We are happy that you got away almost scot-free, with minor damages to the vehicle, no injuries to anyone, no ugly mob etc.

It must be remembered by us that on the roads in India, we have to be ready for all eventualities. Especially on narrow semi-urban roads.
