Generally, August 15th is the founders day of Mahindra and Mahindra and they have a release event that day. Mahindra is launching the 5 door Mahindra Thar Armada and maybe a concept that day.

But that will not deter another company launch the same day.

It seems I am on a car spotting spree! After having spotted the Gloster in Karnataka just yesterday, I happened to spot the Curvv today in Pune - only that things did not go down well today.

We were going to stop at a restaurant for a bio break and as we entered, we saw the Curvv exiting. I quickly got down from the car and knocked on the driver's window and asked him if I could take a photo. Obviously, he did not give in and was about to close the window. Attempt 2 had me asking him, "Gaadi ke bare mein kuch to bata do bhai!" (Translation = Give me some info on the car, brother). Again, no luck. Technically, he restricted me from clicking interior pics, so I went in front of the car for some exterior shots when he was reversing the car out. I was mentally prepared to be shooed / scolded / abused verbally. But what unfolded next was simply unbelievable. As I took the phone to click pictures, the driver revved the car and drove towards me before hard-braking in an attempt to shoo me away. Mind you, he stopped just inches away from me. It is not everyday that I get to spot cars on test, so I forgot to get intimidated and all I did was take a step back and finish clicking the picture . All this while, my dad who was in the vicinity didn't mind much, but this act caught his attention and he got pissed. He then confronted the driver to give him a piece of his mind. I thought of intervening and ask dad to let it go, but I decided to use this time to click more pics instead! Anyway, we drove off after finishing our original business and had a good laugh. I do understand that the driver must have been under pressure when he saw an "automotive spy" of sorts, but there are better ways to deflect such spies (not that they'll be successful in shooing me away, but still )

Here are the pictures. I noticed purple accents in the car, so I think its safe to assume that this will get the Fearless Purple shade. Apart from this, I didn't notice anything that isn't already discussed in this thread.

Sigh! So it's just going to be another Nexon from the inside!

TATA could have done d=something better with the dash as that is the element that one would see for the maximum amount of his / her time in the car.

Seems like just a jacked-up Nexon as TATA doesn't want to miss the C-SUV space that is being ruled by the Korean!

Small correction: M&M founders day is Oct 2.

You are right about the launch part though. Probably even the B.E EV versions might be launched.

First they put the hatchback on steroids and marketed it as c-Suv. Now they are planning to put the sedan on steroids. Oh wait--the compact sedan on steroids par se. A strange world it is becoming nowadays.

Yeah I know the germans did it a looong ago. Then the americans. But again, those were properly designed luxury cars. Here we are probably going to have an abomination.

Curvv looks a lot like Nexon on stilts to me based on the model Tata showcased in Bharat mobility expo this year. The front led connected lights and DRLs are very similar to new Nexon.

Tata has done this before in 2000s with Indica which had decent sales back then. Add boot to Indica and create Indigo which was 4.1m in length. Chop boot a bit to create Indigo eCS which was under 4m. Then we had Indigo Marina, the station wagon version of Indigo and Indigo Manza, the long wheelbase (LWB) Indian car.

Curvv can attract a set of buyers who want something different looking than Nexon. It would be nice to see new Nexon and Curvv next to each other to get real size comparison

TAMO is going to compete in very hot segment.
We all know they had very little room to redesign the front and its going to remain more or less the same as Nexon.

But coming to the interior, Instead of just pasting the same layout(ref to spy shots) they could have differentiated it from sub 4m category to feel more premium.

In between, I love the car and appreciate TAMO for bringing the new body style to mass market.

Some of us already like the interiors of other Tata cars and would jump on the new body type. I don't think there is any need to differentiate the interiors, make it more "premium" and not be able to price it competitively.

I don't think so. They need to be more upmarket if they're going to even come close to Creta/Seltos. I personally think this product is going to be a huge failure. The primary reason I feel is the subjective looks. But also the lack of differentiation will hurt Tata.
