re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

Interesting points from this short interview. "This won't be a niche product but priced to attract customers and drive volumes. "

I won't be surprised if this overlaps quite a bit with the Nexon, such that the top end of the Curvv could even undercut the segment leader Creta.

Not sure if Curvv.ev_Saleskit_v3.pdf is prepared by Tata or their dealers but a comparison to other sorted EV models such as ZS EV or Atto3 and ICE models like Creta, Seltos, Hyrider looks childish and immature, and at some places fabricated.

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

For the Ev,
I speculate there will be 3 trims
1- Mid variant (loaded but no panoramic sunroof, smaller screen, smaller wheels?)
Price- 16.99 Lakh Ex showroom

2- Top Variant (loaded to the brim- ventilated seats, pano sunroof, all smart car features, etc.)
Price- 18.99 Lakh

3- Top variant Plus ( ADAS?)
Price- 19.99 Lakh

There is no need to charge too much premium over Nexon EV as its mostly based on it?
If it goes into 21-22lakh+ range, it will be a bit harder to sell.

I have assumed there will only be Long range version.

This pricing is too optimistic. Vivek Srivastava has clearly said that they will price it aggressively. Thought it will be pitched as a premium product, pricing will be for mass Market as they are targeting volumes. Ex-showroom price will start under the top-end Nexon. Taxes will be higher in this segment with 28% tax with 18% Cess. Secondly, they need to create space for Sierra that will be priced on par with Creta/Seltos.

Let us please keep the comments real. I can tell you after test-driving 200 cars that no one can judge whether a car will be bouncy around corners or at high speeds, by just the rear end design. Or how it looks.

Tata's deliberate increase in charging infra in such mountain areas?
It's purely marketing. Tata has no interest in increasing charging infrastructure in Sandakphu.

A point on AWD and suspension - if they are showing us the car being driven on such rough terrain, does that mean it will be an AWD with really good suspension?
I think we can safely assume that the car won't have AWD.

-I dont expect aggressive pricing for the EV. Only the base trim i suppose will undercut nexon.ev LR (introductory pricing).
-Top LR variant (including fast charger price) with all bells and whistles should be atleast 24 Lakhs (ex showroom).
-Yes the EV attracts just 5% GST, but remember you're getting a bigger battery pack as well. The cost of bigger battery pack offsets the lower tax.
-Until the Creta EV, Maruti/Toyota EVX, updated ZS EV, Mahindra BE 05 arrive on our shores, Tata wont price the EV aggressively.
- Tata isnt bajaj to price its products aggressively, atleast not their EVs.

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

I have prebooked curvv EV at a couple of dealers. Planning to replace our 2nd car with EV top model which will be used primarily in city. One of the SAs told me that it will be priced just 1-1.5L above Nexon and that recent reductions in raw material related taxes are expected to help reduce prices.

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

EVs don't have ICE cars' "above 4m" cess. They are charged flat 5% GST regardless of the price. That is the reason Mahindra & MG are able to price XUV400 & ZS EV aggressively compared to Nexon LR. Its just the incremental battery capacity that is going to cost more. So Curvv EV can be priced very aggressively unlike Curvv ICE, and I hope Tata prices it so.

A generic question regarding all Coupe style cars:

Looking at the pictures, the rising belt line makes the rear glass very small when seen from driver's seat. Will it not hinder the rear view in the IRVM for the driver? The rear view camera seems to be a mandatory accessory for this body style.

They've already announced three powertrains : The 1.2 Revotron( same in Nexon), an indigenous 1.2 TGDI and the 1.5 Revotorq (Diesel, same as Nexon maybe in a higher state of tune)

What's wrong with the comparison? I think by now Tata has come a long way in making better personal vehicles and winning discerning customers starting with original Nexon and more so later with Harrier (and similarly Mahindra). Creta and Seltos mentioned in the list are poor in crash safety compared to stellar build quality of Tata/Mahindra cars, not only in terms of on paper ratings but also in real life. So, that alone may be reason enough for many to ditch them for these domestic companies, let alone other factors.
