Haha. All of us know not happening. 25L on road for top model will be the price.

Tata has no reason to price top model at 20L.

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

Had accompanied my neighbor today for his Nexon delivery & was casually discussing with the Sales guy about the Curvv & got to know that they already have 80+ unofficial bookings (EV & ICE). He also added that there were many buyers who had put their Nexon top-end models on hold for the Curvv & will decide only after launch. Curvv has already arrived at their stockyard & they will be having their trainings in the coming days. One thing he said & i would love to believe it was that the Car looks better in person than in pictures. If priced right, Tata has a sure shot winner & I just wonder what the condition at their showrooms/service center will be given that they are already overwhelmed with high demand of current lineup

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

I am now getting the same feeling of being hosed thrice over in under 13 months. I buy the Nexon EV Max Dark edition in May 2023 and lo and behold, the facelift comes 4 months later. I ignore it, but TaMo launches the Punch EV with an updated architecture at a lower price point. And now the Curvv EV a few months later.
At the same time, it makes me proud that TaMo has made generational leaps in their EV strategy in just a few years. Maruti on the other hand has played the volume game with no innovation. It’s anybody’s guess where this will end…

I still can't get to terms with how this coupe looks from the side. When I first saw this, it instantly gave me vibes of the erstwhile Tigor and the Zest. As always, I believe this design once on the roads will build on me and the masses; and finally, we will laud it as a masterpiece

Considering the Power Tariffs charged based on the units consumed, houses with high electricity usage should opt for Solar power, which is generated and added to the Grid and adjusted to the actual usage.

For my brother's house, the bill that used to come with 10K+ per month has been reduced to less than 1K. He had spent 7Kw Solar power with 4.8L

So, any solar investment is not top of the car cost and it is a separate investment for the domestic power usage including your electric car and scooter charging

Well, I do have a nickname of "Mr. Hopelessly Hopeful" amongst my friends

Nevertheless, if top variant is priced within INR 20L Ex-Showroom, then with 5% GST, accessories, insurance (+18% GST), and other charges, the on road price would be closer to 23-24L, which leaves sufficient room for price hikes as well as FAME III incentive cuts and still allow a sufficient breathing room to plonk in Sierra EV in the 22-27L bracket for next year.

TAMO already knows that the top variants of Nexon.EV will be cannibalized by base variants of Curvv EV, no matter what or how they price it. They've experienced the same with Tiago - Punch pair and Punch.EV - Nexon.EV pair to some extent. With Punch - NexonMax (Gen1 & 2) pair, it was other way around.

So I believe TAMO have more or less, accepted this and just want to have a continuous offering for the entire spectrum, right from 8L till the 30-35L figure, right before the Europeans start their EVs.

Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh-price_comparison.png

Now, I'm not saying that this is how pricing decisions are taken, but I'm also not saying that the following type of analysis is not taken into account when deciding some values by some math geeks related to auto and insurance industries(read whatever you can into that). If you see the crude analysis I have attached at the end, TAMO has a good coverage from 8L till the 20L cut off line. You can also see that Tigor EV has been completely cannibalized by Punch EV. Maybe they did that because Tigor was specifically designed for fleets or did not meet the contribution margin goals.

Ignoring Tigor, TAMO has kept the base variant of next lineup in the ~1.5L below the top variant of previous lineup.

Tiago EV's Top variant : 12.0L bracket
Punch EV's Base variant : 11.0L bracket

Punch EV's Top variant : 15.5L bracket
Nexon EV's Base variant : 14.5L bracket

Given that Nexon EV's top variant currently sits in the 19.5L bracket, I'm hopeful that Curvv EV's base varinat will start from 18L or 18.5L.

Assuming 7-8 price brackets (of INR 0.5L each), the top variant reaches out to 22.5L

Now if you add in the incoming FAME III, festival discounts and the year end discounts (year end is just 4 months away, while these vehicles have an average waiting period of 2-3 months), I still am hopeful that the top variant would definitely come within INR 20L or max, INR 21L.

PS : If I'm able to convince my finance minister about this beauty, will definitely share how much it costed me.

This look is getting way too much now !

Nexon, Harrier, Safari, Punch .ev (almost) and now thre Curvv. I think TAMO shouldn’t have taken it this far.

The price for Nexon ev LR top variant is around 20.65 Lakhs. Are you including UP Govt State subsidy/incentive?

The Top variants of Curvv ev will have panaromic sunroof, AC fast charger as optional add ons similar to its other siblings. Together they will cost atleast 1 Lakh. If Tata decides to add ADAS as an optional kit, then that should cost another 50k.So I am assuming top end to cost somewhere between 21-22 Lakh exshowroom with above mentioned 3 features as an optional addon. Anything less than 22 Lakhs will be the first value for money offering from Tata's EV stable.

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

All Tata cars have started to look like exact copies of each other. It wasn't enough that the Nexon and the new Punch EV were looking like twins, we have a third which looks the same from the front. Design is always subjective and what someone loves might be something another hates. I am in the latter category.

No, i just copied the Ex-Showroom prices from CarDekho for Nexon EV in Delhi.

Realistically, 22-23L does seem like the top cap. However, I must admit, I am being biased and want this to be launched at lower price...

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

My 3XO booking has just been billed from factory and Tata is luring me towards the Curvv now. I really wish Curvv's features doesn't impress me or priced far beyond my reach . I wanted to peacefully enjoy one last ICE MT ownership before jumping on to the Hybrid/EV bandwagon.

Ex-Showroom prices on car dekho don't account for Rs. 1.3 Lakh discount running on top variant of Nexon EV.

My take is that the on road price of Cruvv EV will be slightly undercutting Creta and Hyryder (Hybrid) top variants.

For all those people commenting about the family look, ever seen a Audi, BMW or Mercedes they all carry the same front look with minor variations.
