re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

The EV positioning seems good. The emphasis of the presentation was about taking on the automatic variants of mid size SUVs. With close to 400 km of real world range, it is a worthy alternative to any mid size SUV for most of the people.

What about the N-Line vs Curvv.ev 55 top variant comparo?. It would be very interesting to see how both fare against each other.

Well done on the EV front, Tata!!!

It would have been good for prospective customers to have the diesel prices revealed. Also, did they reveal the specifications of the new diesel engine? Is it an in- house engine or sourced from FIAT?

I now await the launch of Thar ROXX and the price reveal. I might be in market for a replacement of my 10 year old Zest D.

Technically speaking, the ZS EV Executive is actually priced below 20 Lakh (18.99) and is more powerful than the Curvv.EV.

Anyways, the Curvv.EV is definitely hit it out of the park here.
Apples to apples comparison done with a Creta/Seltos NA Petrol AT, the Curvv.EV 45 holds the acquisition price advantage and has next to no running costs.

At the top end, Creta / Seltos Turbo Petrol/Diesel AT or the Grand Vitara Hybrid cannot offer the value quotient that the Curvv.EV 55 does.

It does all of the above while still offering an expected 5 star BNCAP rating.

The cargo volume is also best in class. In fact, it is higher than that on the Harrier.

The only chink in the armour is the wheelbase. It is the shortest in the segment. Its 50mm less than the Koreans and a good 91mm less than the Germans. That might translate to the least in class legroom in the back seat. But if you are a nuclear family and hardly ever use the back seats, that is probably a non-issue.

I think 2 varients will be the most popular:

- Empower+ A55 - only varient with ADAS
- Acomplished+ S55 - Most value for money if you don't need ADAS

Spending 70-75K for extra 10 kWH battery definitey makes sense. I personally would go with Emplower+ A55 only for the ADAS, but it also has some features which I feel are a must (in >20L segment) like electronic seat adjustment and Auto dimming IVRM.

Don't care so much about mood lighting and other jazz like Air purifier with AQI display, voice operated sunroof, welcome light etc.

Is the head/fog lamp broken on the display vehicle? If so, Tata really needs to pull their act together. They cannot goof up such an important launch.

TATA should have come out with the lot, on pricing for other engine options. Being too late to the market has hurt the company sales more so than help it. I also think their products are overpriced. However much I want to be a fan of the company, their reliance on the EV sales and brand sentiment shy me away.

Accomplished and Accomplished+S look to be the most value IMO.

Since you've gone through the variant list, can you answer a question that i have.

I see that the Empower + A55 has the electronic seat adjustment. Does it also mean it has seat memory? That is, I can set the seat to whatever I prefer, and when a valet driver messes with it I can press a button and it automatically goes back to my setting.

ICE Variants

Looks to have all the necessary balance of features but Tata is known to egrigiously overprice its variants and then offer discounts 6 months down the line.
Let's see if they price it sensibly.

Just saw the launch video. The car turned right side and the fog lamp got activated - cornering lamps?

But it should have turned off when the wheel was turned back to its position. Maybe it will stay lit for a while or its a bug

Sends out a really wrong message to the public on behalf of the brand:
"Our products have niggles from day 0 (despite our 3rd or 4th unveil of the same product)."

I hope they rectify the issues on this super important and much awaited product by the time deliveries start, or by their next launch of the same product (this time specifically the ICE version launch)

I don't think the car has seat memory, else they would have explicitly mentioned it.

Its only electronically operated 6 way seat adjustment, which is slightly more convenient and accurate than manual. I have it in my current car (without any memory function).

re: Scoop! Tata Curvv test mule spotted in India. EDIT: Curvv Petrol launched at Rs. 10.00 lakh

Hi everyone,
Im looking to buy the Curvv EV Empowered+ 55 and was wondering if 215/55 R18 are good enough or should I go for a size up?
Normally in ICE cars we see 5-10% FE drop in upsizing, will it have the same effect on EV as well?

They do … I have a BS6 Thar. Due to AdBlue tank capacity reduced from 60 L to 45 L limiting range. Old Diesel and New Petrol have 60 L
