While I agree with you here but I doubt most Indians use cup holders as intended. I for one don't and can't even think of driving on Indian roads(even the good ones) drinking coffee. Maybe that is the reason they decided to omit it because it is not really used by a lot of people in India and very few care about them.

I have seen 6 or 7 of the Curvv media drive cars on the road in front of my home when I was there for the long weekend (I think the media are stationed at one of the Taj-Cidade de Goa hotels nearby). It is surely very eye-catching especially in the brown and red paints, and hard to miss on the road yet pleasing to look at. Looks better than it does in pictures and I think the design will age well.

I think most Indians (or is it just my family) use the cup holders to store bottles so it makes sense to have the holders in front of the air vent (does the Curvv have one?).

I think I've drank hot coffee or tea while driving maybe 2 or 3 times in my entire life. However, I have used the cupholder to store other beverages quite a lot many times.

In fact, I loved the retractable cup holder that swift used to have, right in front of the passenger side vent. It was perfect for red bull or any other beverage required for long drives.

I assume this is to reuse the same part as Nexon with least changes to keep cost in check. Wireless charger is proving to be hindrance and with slow charging speed and heating, I would still go for wired charging. The wireless chargers do not have any option to turn it off and let my phone just sit there without unnecessary charging.

For my use case, the center cupholders are useful for front passenger to keep his/her phone and wallet, ad-hoc parking slip/receipt, driver phone, sanitizer or small trash can so that people don't throw trash inside my car or small 500ml water bottle. I prefer to have my tea or coffee outside the car and enjoy the beverage.

Got to say you definitely are a daredevil to have had a hot drink on road. Even the best of highways and expressways here can have surprises and even the known roads here develop sudden potholes in a day sometimes.

Yes. I am not debating usefulness of cupholders Even I store some spare change, portable dustbins, car fresheners, and other accessories designed for cup holders and I really miss them in cars. I was just trying to understand and guess what the designers at Tata might have been thinking.

Mod Note: Our Tata Curvv Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!
