Which is 'car of your choice' in Entry level C segment?

IMHO, manufacturers are not giving focus on entry level C segment. May be we can say premium hatch & premium C segments eat away share of entry C segment.

Lets vote to see who wins at TBHP.

I am listing these options.
  1. Hyundai Accent
  2. Ford Ikon
  3. Renault Logan
  4. Maruti Esteem
  5. TATA Indigo
Fiat Petra is discontinued, so excluded.

I voted Hyundai Accent . In fact, I am not fully satisfied with any option in this segment. This is the segment I started to look for, while buying car. But none impressed me, slowly (in 6 months) I increased my budget to go for Premium C, bought SX4.

Each car has its own Pro's and Con's. But as overall package I voted for Accent.

Its Logan, the reason its sapcious car and very much practical. Although its Entry level sedan its still spacious and has few safety features and very decent as well. If its priced 20,000/- less it would have been big hit!

Regards,

Ravi.

If variants are not a concern, then I would vote for the Logan. Weird as it may look, I feel as a package it offers the best VFM.

any logan owners here who can share experience on the drving experience...? most automags claim the logan is a driver oriented car ...probably the engine may be a let down for spirited driving but if it really is a good handler, i think as a package it beats the rest...imho

Esteem wins hands down. I would go for the Esteem anyday. Excellent engine, VFM, low cost of ownership, appealing and graceful looks. Wow. I love the esteem and hold it at high esteem !

Ikon, even if Fords support is bad, there is not any "entertainment" in the rest (in the stock form that is)

Esteem, without any doubt.
And what do I see in the poll ? The Logan's leading !!!
From tbhp's most hated car, it seems to have come a long way to become a favourite here.

IMO, the Ikon mentioned here is the 1.3L Flair. If so, not sure what's it that you find in it, which the rest don't have ? With the 1.6, you might have been right, though.

The Ford offering is not called Ikon but as the Flair...and that would be my choice. For diesel Logan it is.

None actually. Damn, now I miss the Petra and the Baleno. But push comes to shove, then it is the Indigo.

Of the lot, I would pick the Esteem. A drivers' car and real VFM

Esteem it is, for me. Even though outdated, its still a very good car!

Tough Choice. I own an Ikon but on hindsight, I think Esteem it should have been.

Esteem it is for me.
